Day of the dead, one red shoe, and mask.
I may change Mask to back to the future, in the future, or in the past, depending on how you look at it.
DAY OF THE DEAD was the only zombie film to match the magic of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. A different style of black comedy was instilled, along with lots of suspense. The military leader, I think his name was Rhodes, was better than Barnes of Platoon. Barnes was a sadistic monster, the sort I've known too often, who acted like he cared for his men, but really didn't. Rhodes actually cared for them, but was too scared when it came time to risk his life for them. He knew he was defeated, while Barnes knew he was invincible.
If the officer's name was Rhodes, it brings to mind that he was probably named after the lifeboat skipper who stood by while his men through weaker civilians overboard in a crowded life raft.
