Whether real or not, they're classified as one of the dumbest breeds (125th smartest according to one website). It all seems to add up.

At a supermarket several years ago, I noticed shoppers avoiding a certain aisle for no apparent reason. I decided to investigate. There in the middle of the aisle was living praying mantis. I gently picked it up and took it outside where I let it go.
