I'm bias as fuck here but I will always love the nick name "Chipper" for Chipper Jones. Most people don't even know his real name outside of Mets country.

I must admit, I love the crazy baseball names. You’d think with their love of rhyming slang, footballers and cricketers from London and Australia would be named similarly. Alas, adding an ‘o’ or a ‘y/ie’ to the end of your name is the height of nicknames more often than not.

Why do they have to be silly?
The best baseball name ever is clearly Mickey Mantle.
It's so perfect in every way. It conveys both mighty strength and also the youth factor of baseball innocence (Mickey).
