The Bullitt (1968) car chase scene seems to get praised but it's pretty average overall. but then again the movie itself is pretty average and it's hard to say something stands out in a average movie in general. either way, it's not as good as many claim it is.
but in general I imagine it boils down to largely franchise movies that have the better car chase scenes as if you put those aside not much would be left off the top of my head.
but at this point in time... nothing really stand out from the pack off the top of my head as movies that happen to stand out in general that do have some car chase scenes, the car chase scenes by themselves are nothing that great but the overall movie just happens to stand out.

I could list So Many... Many that have already been mentioned so far... Here is one that hasn't been... The downtown chase sequence in "The Dukes Of Hazzard" (2005)Warning... "The General Lee" has a Confederate Flag painted on the top of the car... Watch at your own risk!As a fan of the original "Family Friendly" TV Show, I didn't enjoy the movie very much, but I loved this chase sequence! |
