The past few years it seems like Disney can do no (very little at least) wrong. I guess the masses love what Disney feeds them.

The past few years it seems like Disney can do no (very little at least) wrong. I guess the masses love what Disney feeds them. I don't think that's proven--if it were-their Star Wars attraction wouldn't be a failure. Film distribution has never been cheaper so they do not lose money, ticket prices are much higher, people have less choice if they want to watch something outside, and there's Hollywood Accounting (aka we lie about business). Disney's inspiration is the USSR cultural model and I do not think most Russians have a favorable view of movies from those decades. Disney now specializes in visual noise.

Don't worry, five movies will pass it by in the next few years. Of course they'll also be Disney properties, but still.

Five. I have only fed the monster through the movies Black Panther, Zootopia, and Maleficent. Both Ad Astra and Ford vs Ferrari might get my money in the near future, for what I think is a very obvious reason.

Isn’t that partly due to the fact cinema ticket prices go up each year?

Disney could probably make a movie about a plastic bag blowing down the road for 2 hours and it would be one of the highest crossing films.

They could probably make a live action remake of "The Black Cauldron" and it would make obscene amounts of money.

Really? I don't even know a single person who's seen it.
And in accordance with the thread, make it six.

The most amount of people who have seen it from what I know are younger kids, who maybe were exposed to the original by their parents and liked it so they wanted to see this, or their parents just took them anyway because they grew up with it, regardless if the child watched the original or not.

My nephew and his girlfriend saw it, they're in their late 20s and they pretty much said the same things as the critics. It's visually very impressive and beautiful, but it lacks heart & soul.

Whenever I hear the term lacking heart and soul it makes me think that people are saying they actually wanted a remake of the original.
I’m one of the few who made it a hit that thinks it’s perfectly fine to have two versions and I’m glad for it’s success.
While I am fine with the broadway style musical numbers of the original I also love the more grounded musical numbers of the latest one.
