And I agree! My fave as well. Same for Batman. And Travolta for PC is a good choice as well. For others: Holmes/Watson - Michael Caine/Ben Kingsley in Without A Clue. Bond, James Bond - Roger no Moore. Dr. Who - Tom Baker Tarzan - Ron Ely of the TV series. A USA President - Fiction: Jack Warden IMO looks/acts/sounds the most like a president from Being There. Based on reality: Dan Hedaya for playing Nixon in Dick.

I liked the Downey versions also for just fun action, but he doesn’t convince me as Holmes.

It's a twist on the stories where Watson, played by Kingsley, is the crime solver and he invented Holmes, Caine, who is actually a clueless actor so that Watson can sell the true crime stories to a magazine.

I saw that...like it. Have you read Neil Gaiman’s A Study in Emerald? I wish this could be done as a movie.

Robiπ Hood - Cary Elwes Sherlock Holmes - Benedict Cumberbatch Dr Johπ Watsoπ - Martin Freeman (he's fine. I remember more Sherlocks than I do Watsons) Batmaπ - Christian Bale James Boπd - Sean Connery Dr Who - David Tenant Tarzaπ - Wolf Larson
A USA Presideπt - drawing a blank. I don't love US presidents that aren't real, so I guess I'll round down to fun and say the not very presidential but still affable Bill Pullman from Independence Day
Least
Robiπ Hood - Kevin Costner Sherlock Holmes - Robert Downy Jr by default. (the other two Sherlocks I've seen being Cumberbatch and Rathbone, who're both terrific) Dr Johπ Watsoπ - blank Batmaπ - Ben Affleck James Boπd - ooh...Timothy Dalton Dr Who - Paul McGann Tarzaπ - blank A USA Presideπt - probably Aaron Eckhart, which is too bad because I really like the dude

The Johnny Weissmuller movies hold a special charm for me. I recently purchased Tarzan's Desert Mystery (1943)...which apparently has Nazis, Giant spiders, man-eating plants, a magician, sheiks and dinosaur lizards. I think I am gonna now watch this tonight.
