It happens to me quiet often. Especially when I am in public places there were instances when people asked me "Hi! How are you?", only to realize later that they confused me for someone else. Funny this happened faraway from my hometown. I have had more than a few instances, where people I talked to for 5 mins had told me, "you look like someone I know".
Funny how, this happened to me both in Andhra and Karnataka. And I have never been outside these states. And it happens mostly with strangers, not with people that I have known since long time.
Anyways, the biggest surprise was when a college friend of mine sent me a screenshot of an advertisement of some Switzerland university from his Facebook feed and asked me, if it was me in the ad. Well, the guy in the pic did look Indian and a bit like me but there were many subtle differences.
You experience this often?

Nah, never. People generally run looking at my perpetually grim visage.
