Chicago is a three point favorite but people point out that Rogers has been a Bear killer all his career.
Can Aaron do it one more time with a rookie coach and new offensive scheme?
Game kicks off in about an hour and a half.

just saw a scroll on the bottom of ESPN stating the Bears are favorites in the NFC ahead of the Eagles and Rams think the odds i saw were 8-1, Eagles were 13-1, Rams escapes me right now *** Edit - my fault - Saints were favorites in the NFC with 8-1 odds, Bears 2nd at 9-1 I don't see that either. I still see it as Rams/Eagles but hey - that's why we play the year

They're there to take advantage of, I think I like Philly better than the Bears, I'm not sure which way the Rams will go. Have to see a few games.

They're stating it's per Caesar's Sportsbook Saints - 8-1 Bears - 9-1 Eagles - 13-1 Rams - 13-1 Brees is getting up there in age. Wouldn't one think too the loss of Ingram may have an impact and defenses will be more focused on Kamara now since they don't have a 2 headed monster in the backfield?

Good pointing out that Brees is going to slow down one of these days. I keep thinking the same thing about Rogers.

Nothing about Turdisky screams to me he can take the Bears to the NFC Championship Game vs. Saints - but again - hey - that's why we play the games and it's Week #1.

Bears tight end Trey Burton is out. He was a game time decision and he's not making it.

Not to beat a dead horse -
But just waking up and looking at that final score - I just don't get what some see in Turdisky that makes them think he can take them to a Bowl.
But maybe the kid will surprise me and he doesn't necessarily have to play lights out with that defense behind him - he just needs to be above average.
As of now - I don't see it though. Still think the Rams and Eagles are the favorites in the NFC.

Packers DB Tramon Williams: 'We wanted to make (Trubisky) play quarterback. We knew they had a lot of weapons. We knew they were dangerous. We knew all of those things. We knew if we could make (Trubisky) play quarterback, we would have a chance'. Ouch

Even though he was turfed before the playoffs started a lot of people were murmuring about him being the next franchise QB for the Raiders.
Chicago got back into the playoffs last year with Trubisky for the first time in 8 years and a lot of people got their hopes up. Whenever a team sucks for a stretch and then a quarter back has a good season, people start getting their hopes up. I'm not saying he's going to be a bust, but he's gotta long way to go to prove he's going to be a successful long term QB.

Carr was an MVP contender in 2016; meanwhile, no one was giving Trubisky credit for getting the Bears to the playoffs last season. People were excited about the Bears because of their fearsome defense. They're bound to regress with Fangio gone but they still looked pretty damn good last night. Trubisky has always been mediocre, with Nagy's shrewd scheme masking his flaws last season.

That comparison seems fair to me. People were premature in crowning Carr the next big thing and they did the same with Trubisky. There were people saying that Trubisky was the best QB in the NFC North.

I could make a joke about getting what you pay for when you schedule two shitty teams for opening night...but then I remember last year's Super Bowl.

Carr COULD have been a big thing if Gruden and the rest of that moronic organization didn’t dismantle an up and coming team for no reason other than vanity.

I’m starting to wonder if there ARENT shitty teams in this league. I expect the Cards and their 'Air Raid Offense' to be a trainwreck. Apparently Kyler Murray has a hard time communicating with Kliff Kingsbury - Kingsbury compared himself to an extent to Chip Kelly the other day - that's not a comparison you want to make Bub - to a coach that couldn't cut it in the NFL.

I thought Kingsbury had known Murray since he was a kid? That was one of the big reasons the Cards drafted him, because there was such a good relationship between the two. Now they can't communicate? If Murray can't play for KK, who can he play for?
