I only remember her as the (possibly delusional) mother in Bunny Lake Is Missing (1965) dir Otto Preminger. A rather awkward performance, but it was a quirky film generally. Good though.  |

She was a huge favourite.
Seen all her cinema movies I think. BUNNY and POSEIDON the keepers - will aim to watch them both over next few days. But lots else I have enjoyed her in.
She gave great eye rolling whack job, none more so than in ONCE YOU KISS A STRANGER - a STRANGERS ON A TRAIN variant with her as Robert Walker, first seen in a lime green bikini and harpoon combo.... 
She always came across as pleasant in interviews. My favourite dvd commentary ever is Carol, Stella Stevens and Pamela Sue Martin commenting on POSEIDON. They were all terrified of Shelley. Carol's tale of Irwin Allen inviting her into his office late at night during production to admire his model POSEIDON is priceless. I like to think she found her morning after...

Dammit-I almost watched a Carol Lynley movie yesterday.
Well it is good I didn't because I would felt creepy seeing this news today.
I heard she and Red Buttons hated each other on the Poseidon Adventure.
Awkward.
I didn't think she was a good match for Darren McGavin in the Night Stalker. Jo Ann Pflug was more his type I reckon.
