...Park 1? He was great in the first JP, he was great in The Omen III, and he was great in The Hunt for Red October, so what happened? Did he piss off the wrong high powered people behind the scenes?

You could ask the same of Alison Doody! Well I already know the answer but great point. I love Alison Doody! "After Indiana Jones, which introduced her to Hollywood and to the United States, she was chosen to replace Cybill Shepherd as spokeswoman for L'Oréal. After that she shot a few B-movies in the United States, but at one point felt she missed Ireland too much, so she went back to Dublin. In 1994, she put her career on hold to spend more time with media heir Gavin O'Reilly, whom she had been dating for two years. In 1996 they married, and later had two children. In 2002, she was asked to cameo in the 'Michael Caine (I)_ comedy The Actors (2003), and there she regained a lust for the movie industry. The following summer, she shot King Solomon's Mines (2004) with co-star Patrick Swayze, and it's then that the whole ball started rolling again. In 2005, she and her husband divorced and she decided to re-launch her stalled career, but she quickly realized how difficult it was to break into this kind of business for a second time, especially after ten years away from the camera."

He was still in demand when Jurassic Park 3 arrived on the scene. As for Alison Doody, I think she became a mother or something.

I think I remember her L'Oreal commercials. "Because I'm worth it!" She apparently lost the blonde boring woman part in LOTR because of kids.
One of the reviews of the King Solomon's Mines movie:
"But the acting is 'tenenkrommend' as we say in The Netherlands (it makes your toes curl -and not in a good way). I like Swayze but in this he's awful. The muscles in his jaws make overtime and he's frowning the whole movie -some one must have told him it looks butch. No Patrick: it looks silly and is compensation for lack of character. Alison Doody (Elizabeth) has opted for a style of acting that does not meet the style of her co-workers. Her acting is só relaxed that this movie could have been set in the current days. And it's not. Your frock was a clue, Alison."

"Wine-making is the only thing I’ve really formed any ambition for. My acting career has always been muddling from one thing to another, and a lot of good luck."

He was Great in those Movies and also in both " JURASSIC PARK III" (He was 1 of the few good things about that Movie) and " EVENT HORIZON".

The last movie I saw her in was something with Michael Biehn I think around 1994. As for Sam Neill, who knows? Wasn't he picked for Jurassic Park because Kurt Russell turned it down?

She was almost Eowyn? I would have liked that if she still had her good looks. King Solomon's Mines does look pretty bad.

Sam Neill didn't want to be a movie star. His career has probably exceeded his ambitions. Good for him.

Yeah, apparently Peter Jackson wanted her for it but she was having a kid (not the goat kind).

I lost favor with Neil when he started promoting and endorsing for the consumption of red meat about a decade ago. Well you're being completely ridiculous.

How did it crash and burn?

I actually liked the 23rd remake of King Solomon's Mines. It was a made for TV movie so it wasn't Oscar bait or anything. Doody was still very pretty after all those years. I thought Swayze was adequate.
Sam Neill is interesting though, he was amazing in JP and Event Horizon although I have to admit I haven't seen a lot of his filmography. My wife and I still quote Event Horizon "Where we are going, we won't need eyes to see."

How did it crash and burn? The Dr Grant role is his last noteworthy role.

He was in Stallone's "Escape Plan" in recent years.

I don't think it did. Just because he never became a major A-lister like Tom Cruise doesn't mean his career crashed and burned.

He's probably not an actor who will just go where the money is.
