Dina Meyer was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York. She is of Austrian and German ancestry. Meyer has worked within every corner of the entertainment industry; she's a trained dancer (New York's High School of Performing Arts), a figure model and a theatrical performer, but also a keen entrepreneur with publicity credentials who's successfully managed various aspects of her own multi-faceted career. At Long Island University, she took courses in French and business administration, further widening her skills palette. She studied acting under Sanford Meisner at the The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Meyer has also lent her dainty dancers' feet to a series of foot photo sessions promoting foot agility and athletic adaptability and she's a supporter of the public right to exhibitionism and 'Go Topless' day.
In cinema, Meyer has continued a lifelong quest to work in genre entertainment, with crime, science-fiction, fantasy and horror at the forefront. In 2007, Meyer was accepted as a loyal Friend of Canada.

A real looker. I wonder if it hindered her job prospects. The stupidest role she had was as a Romulan in a Star Trek movie and they did all they could to cover up her face.

Dina Meyer
'Starship Troopers' (1997)
Those^ are two of the roles I most associate Dina Meyer with. It's a shame they waited so long to make that Birds of Prey show, as I thought she looked great in the Batigrl costume and I would've loved to have watched a show focused on her as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl. Sadly, though, the series she was in didn't end up turning out out so well (I don't think I even saw all of it, just some of it). Still, she's the best-looking live-action version of Batgirl I've seen thus far (tied with the Yvonne Craig version from the 1960's TV series). Here's hoping the new movie version doesn't disappoint. More than Batgirl, though, I'll always remember her as Dizzy from Starship Troopers (1997). There were quite a few things I liked about her character...but at the same time I found her a bit 'stalkerish' when it came to Rico. However, as Michael Ironside's character (Rasczak) pointed out to Rico: "Never pass up a good thing." Last, but definitely not least, the role I will always remember Dina Meyer for the most is the one I remember first seeing her in - which was as Kara in the film Dragonheart (1996). I think I immediately had a crush on her after seeing her in that^ film and whenever I saw her in anything else I'd think to myself, "Hey, it's Kara from Dragonheart!". I really wish she'd gotten more prominent roles in bigger films, but I'm glad she has at least kept getting work. Thank you for starting this thread for this actress, petrolino.

Wait a minute : chalice, is Dennis Quaid in 'Dragonheart'? Sounds like it could be worth seeking out quicktime (or at least scouring my local tv listings for possible screenings).

Does the quality diminish in your eyes? LOL, What do you mean ? I mean, do you think parts 3 & 4 are worth actively seeing out? I thought John McTiernan's original film 'Wild Things' was decent but barely remember the sequel.

Starship Troopers--it was beyond ridiculous that Rico would spurn her (yes he was good looking enough to pick and choose but come on--there's no way he would be so hostile), on the other hand it seems that that was a deliberate WTF on the filmmakers' part so the ending would feel even more awkward. Denise Richards was committed to the military while Dizzy only joined for Rico and at first Rico only joined for Denise but he came around to her way of thinking.
Dragonheart has some really dated CGI. Lots of cartoony dragon physics (in fact, when I saw the trailer the first time, there's a shot where the dragon is between the guy's legs and I assumed the dragon was a baby who the knight raised after killing the mother). Good part for David Thewlis. He would have been the best Loki.

David Thewlis? Stick to 'Naked'./ He's much closer to the comics than Hiddleston's Loki who seems to have wandered off a production of Sense and Sensibility.
