and I mean the bitter, bitter Bish bitterness, not your run of the mill "F*** Brady, Belichick and the Pats" sentiment, but the real "Do you understand that you want people to take you seriously as a man and you are currently whining for the I don't know how many-eth year in a row about you wanting to see Brady's legs broken?" bitter, bitter bishiness, is it's actually growing the Patriots fan base. It really is. I'm a New Yorker; we have the Jets, we have the Giants - the most recently graduated QB of my alma mater is literally the #6-overall-in-the-draft-hot-shi* newest QB for the Giants and that's fun - but there's something about Brady, Belichick and the Pats. It might just be how they threaten men who feel they have no right to root for them. I've lived in New England as much as I've lived in NY, but I root for any team I want to root for no matter where they are. But some guys, they are just galled by talent, by smarts, by strength, by heart and guts, by men who are better than... than they are? Of course, they're professionals. Better than the players they simply sit on the sidelines and root for? It can't be that. This bile is too acrid, the hopes are too vindictive. It's all so dramatic and personal, histrionic even, for them. Hmmm, could it be, nawwww, you couldn't have possibly believed that merely grabbing up Nick Foles could make your Jags the next team to beat out the Pats for those rings, that is, right up until all of... yesterday? Rest-assured, hen, not one Pats fan nor dabbler ever gave even a shred of a wish toward the breaking of Foles' bones. Karma. Is. fascinating.

The Jaguars don't have fans. So none of this applies.

As many as Pittsburgh, and the Patriots have only had competent ownership since 1994.

I don't either. But do you know any dooods who, at the start of every season, go back to sniping about how they hope Tom Brady (and now AB) will break his back/legs/arms? That's the type of bitterness I don't get but see a lot of and it's made me go from complete indifference toward the Pats to kind of really appreciating them, sort of. Dabbler.

To be honest I meant I didn't get the point of your initial post. But if it pisses off people like cheetahcandy, I'm all for it.

I don't either. " title="::giveup:: "] But do you know any dooods who, at the start of every season, go back to sniping about how they hope Tom Brady (and now AB) will break his back/legs/arms? That's the type of bitterness I don't get but see a lot of and it's made me go from complete indifference toward the Pats to kind of really appreciating them, sort of. Dabbler. To be honest I meant I didn't get the point of your initial post. But if it pisses off people like cheetahcandy, I'm all for it. I'm a College Hoops girl not a pro sports person, so was thinking things through, dabbler that I am. There's another IMDb off-shoot, the scummy one, where a board-friend of mine posted a really garbage, slur-filled rant against Brady and AB, and I didn't get the intensity of his animus at all until I got to the end of writing the op here and remembered he's a die-hard Jags fan. I knew it yesterday when Foles got injured, but was so thrown when I read his posts this morning that I just drew a blank, was shocked. Plus I think of him as mostly as a Georgia Bulldogs fan, where I root for Clemson. So yeah, he's bitter squared.
