I give it a 8/10. Rosamund Pike gave the best performance of her career thus far portraying the manipulative Amy Dunne. Ben Affleck was also really good and it helps that his smug persona acts against him in the nature of the movie. Carrie Coon and Neal Patrick Harris were fine supporting characters, and I was generally impressed David Fincher got a good performance out of Tyler Perry, whose work I haven't been too impressed by.

Plot holes spoiled it for me.
How could she get away with murdering the rich boyfriend? Wouldn't his friends and coworkers be able to alibi him for the kidnapping?

Of all the modern Wise Guy directors with their flashy technique and creative violence (e.g. P.T. Anderson and Tarantino), my least favorite is David Fincher. Here, seemingly working as a gun-for-hire, he does pretty well guiding the audience through a complex mystery plot and laying out the history of an interesting sociopathic antagonist. Of course, the script by Gillian Flynn (from her own novel) and good acting from Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Kim Dickens, Carrie Coon, Tyler Perry, and Neil Patrick Harris certainly helped. It was an enjoyable ride but did not go anywhere near my Best of the Year List.
