Having to repeat myself to somebody when they don’t hear me when I knew I said it as loud and clear as I possibly could.
That used to annoy me, too.
However, I look at it that the person to who I am talking might have a hearing impairment.
I was on the phone to a client, and I had to repeat myself a few times. Then, I gave up, and said I would call back later.
I asked my contact when I called back if the lady who I talked to earlier has a hearing impairment. She said she does, and wears a hearing aid. I IMMEDIATELY apologized for that.
I have a slight hearing impairment. My left ear is fine, but my right ear....every so often gets blocked.
Going back to that guy at the hockey games:
When we are at the concourse at the rink, one has to use their outside voice to be heard. Of course, he uses his inside voice. As such, I can't hear him.
He was talking with one of my friends - using his inside voice. Friend asked him to repeat himself.
Guy then said, "You have a hearing problem or something?" Honestly, I was quite shocked that he asked that.
The time he asked me that, I shot back at him, "As a matter of fact, I do - thank you very much!"
