Glad to see A Serious Man ranked that high. A Coen Brothers movie that rarely gets the attention of some of their more popular works, but this one is among my favorites of theirs. Terrific in every way. Agree 100% - - when we did the obligatory Coen Brothers movie rankings after Buster Scruggs came out, I think I had it top three. Grows on me each time I watch it again (and I'm not Jewish).

Russian Ark is one of the worst experiences I have suffered in the cinema. Can't believe that it's on this list.

It's driven by PC thinking.
Which makes it useless.

Has anyone seen Almodovar's The Skin I Live In? One of the most unsettlingly brilliant films I've seen. I don't know that I would want to watch it again to decide if it's a true masterwork, but I suspect that it is. Yeah. Decent movie. Elena Anaya is gorgeous.

Looked at the list this morning. Some I like some I don't. There will be Blood and No Country For Old Men I quite enjoyed. Glad there's only one comic book film in there. Couple of good horror films (though not including Let The Right One In is surely an oversight?).
Needs more Rob Zombie...

A liberal's list of films and therefore forgettable. I'm sure you can go to the National Review and get your fix of American Sniper at #1 followed by 99 Mel Gibson, Kirk Cameron, and James Woods movies.

These films were picked by a liberal for liberals to advance liberalism.
A shit list.

Can you name the ones that you think are okay? Is any movie about women/blacks/gays/Muslims good or are they inherently liberal propaganda?

Go to any 'best novels' of the past ten years and you will find they are almost all decidedly liberal in nature.
I have no interest in liberal propaganda.

Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, mommy! This list doesn't reflect my passive-aggressively whiny, inbred, thin-skinned, hypocritical, snowflakey, Politics board worldview and is therefore both invalid and librul propaganda! Wahhh again! Or alternatively, it's mildly interesting, better than some similar lists I've seen, but more than a tad predictable, in the inimitable Guardian fashion. I've seen 19 of those, and have a further 13 in my ridiculous DVD/Bluray backlog which continues to grow in inverse proportion to how hard I try not to make it grow (six dvds and two blurays this week alone!). The Great Beauty and Ida are my two favourites by far, with honourable mentions for Twenty Four Hour Party People, Waltz With Bashir and Persepolis. The rest of those I've seen I vary from pretty good to underwhelming. Of those in my backlog, I have the highest hopes for White Material. I thought Paddington 2 was quite good, but not a patch on the first one, which is easily the funniest kids' film I've ever seen.

LOL It is the typical liberal list of 'best' when it's not really best, it's just the most liberal films they want to promote.
