I was always curious about asking this kind of question, since it seems like while Hodder is the most famous actor, he’s in some of the least regarded films in the franchise.
Anyway, Jason Takes Manhattan is my favourite. I find it to be highly underrated, and it’s a shame what limited creative control was given. Even then, I still enjoy it with the things that happen on the boat, and the New York stuff was a lot of fun.

7. 8 has that one kill with Jason punching a guy's head off. That's kinda it. There's not too much else of note going on. And he hardly 'takes Manhattan.' He's there for like 15 mins and it's Vancouver for half of that time.
7 has a look and a tone to it that works, the classic setting is nice, it has some good kills (though they were butchered by the MPAA), it actually has some moments of suspense, and I really like the look of Jason himself. I don't particularly care if Kane Hodder is behind the mask or not, but I think he did bring a certain physicality to this one that wasn't really there before. And the makeup when the chick breaks his mask off of his head looks pretty cool.

Jason looks the most badass in part 7. It also has a special nostalgia for me because it's the first in the series I saw. My parents were very strict when I grew up, so there was no way I'd see those as a kid. But I saw part 7 at a friends house and it stuck with me.... Part 7 would be my second choice. Ironically it has the best look of Jason and performance by Hodder, but it also has the weakest deaths, thanks to the MPAA asshats.

Last I'd heard there was still a search for some of that missing effects footage to see if they can restore a director's cut. But now that John Carl Buechler had passed it may be less likely.

Sorry, I miss understood your post. Jason Goes to Hell is not my favorite Friday film. For me, Friday The 13th series ending at Part V.

I said Jason by Hodder in Jason Goes To Hell, was my favorite as Jason. Well I just looked at your ranking for the series in another thread and you have Part VII ranked the highest on that list.

Is he doing this on purpose or does he really not understand the question? I thought it was pretty clear.

Definitely 'Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood.' Although I thought Kane Hodder played Jason in 'Jason Lives' which is my favourite Friday movie in the series but I looked it up on Google and found out he didn't. People can say what they want about the quality of the movies but I always l always Zombie Jason the most 'cause he was more powerful and scarier and I liked how he looked like a monster and he could punch people's heads off and put his arm through them and how the characters could be running away from him and he would turn up in front of them. I think Jason Vorhees is better as a monster than a human 'cause they limit the things they can do with him when they try and make out he is still alive and I don't think he was alive and it was also one of the things that really separated him from Michael Myers.
As for the movie itself I liked Tina and it was fun seeing Jason go up against somebody with powers for a change that could take him on and Kane Hodder is still friends with the actress now and has said he wants to make a movie where characters like Tina and Tommy return as I was telling you about on a private message and I hope we get one when they sort the rights out 'cause heaps of fans want to see those characters return and face Jason one more time.

If Jason Lives was on the list, that would be my favourite by far. I wouldn’t mind seeing Lar Park Lincoln again as Tina, but it would be better if they just got Corey Feldman back to play Tommy, or maybe even Thom Matthews. Zombie Jason is cool. I’m not sure whether I prefer that or the human version from 2-4, since they’re basically both unstoppable. I guess as a human though he’s more terrifying since it’s more realistic.

May second favorite look for Jason is his look in Jason X before he turns into Uber Jason....

I don’t know how he was able to grow his hair back in X. It was pretty odd to me.
