Or just Kilmer and Biehn just adding character to the character they're playing?

I'm pretty sure that's a bit of Hollywood embellishment. There is record of the two getting into a confrontation before the shootout though, trading threats.

Tombstone's one of those rare westerns that fairly accurate. But from what I've searched, this appears to be Hollywood invention.

I doubt it. Doc was known for doing this kind of mockery of people, so it's a decent portrayal of what he might have done.
But it's a very unlikely that Ringo spoke latin. Unlike Doc he was not classicaly educated. Or educated at all.

Tombstone's one of those rare westerns that fairly accurate. But from what I've searched, this appears to be Hollywood invention. I wouldn't count on that. Many years ago I watched another Tombstone with Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas, They fought the shootout all over the town, even over a bridge over a creek, and the gun fight took about an hour and a half. First the gunfight took seconds not minutes much less over an hour. Then I know there is no bridge in Tombstone. There are other problems with any movie about Tombstone back then, and the OK corral wasn't exactly where it is not. The gunfight actually happened more toward the street because the people in the boarding house /mining equipment store watched from the side window. Impossible if it happened where it is claimed today.
