Darnold is out along with a slew of other key Jets players, the Browns have to win this game, otherwise the fans will riot and the Browns will be exposed as a complete fraud.

Things feel like they have come full circle in a way.
Let's rewind the clock
Week 3 of the 2018 season the Cleveland Browns were hosting the New York Jets and under Tyrod Taylor they were down 14-0 and after an injury forced him out of the game, plus the overwhelming boo's from the Cleveland fan base for being such a garbage QB, Baker Mayfield made his rookie debut and it was as if somebody flipped on the light switch. The Browns came roaring back and beat the Jets to end a 19 game losing streak.
That was the game that made everybody stand up and believe that Baker was the franchise QB that the Browns desperately needed, and after beefing up the rest of their positions and getting a new coach, the Browns were SUPPOSED to be the break out team of the year, if you believe the preseason hype.
After last weeks debacle, Mayfield and the Browns have a lot to prove. Interesting they have to prove themselves as not the same old Browns against the Jets, where it started roughly a year ago when Mayfield rallied the team to a win and looked halfway competent at the same time!

If Jets can prevent Browns from scoring here, then 13-3 at half doesn't seem that bad.
Browns get a touchdown here though, forget it.

Boring game with the Browns firmly in command. Jets are down to their 3rd string QB and they are flat out lifeless, Browns look much better this week after shitting the bed in Week 1. Dull game overall.

Dull game overall. You're not wrong, but the Browns look thoroughly unimpressive as well. If they were playing up to their talent level they'd have a 4 touchdown lead. |

Even if the Browns win this game (they should) they can't feel very good about this offense. Baker is looking like crap. This is disappointing.

Yeah, I'm not sure if the Browns are just floating on cruise control here or whatever, but they should be up huge here. They're farting around and all it takes is a couple of big plays and we got a game. |

This QB doesn't look all that bad actually. If he pulled the trigger on the check down to Bell like a second earlier he might have gotten the first down.
