when they happen or do you believe their is some driving force behind them, some sort of message from the universe / god / angels etc ?
If you believe some just coincidences and some are a sign, how do you tell which are which ?

I think they just are. It’s kind of fun to wonder if it could mean something, but I don’t attribute it to anything I don’t have any reason to believe in. I read some quote once, it said something like, “Even the most rational of minds can never quite dismiss a feeling of the uncanny”.

If you believe some just coincidences and some are a sign, how do you tell which are which ? I really do not believe in "coincidence" at all. I think what is often mistook for the coincidence is some settling of universal vibes that are offered to the object, i.e., the person, in order to inform the person, the receiver of synchronicity, to come to the understanding that they are exactly where they should be in life and that all is well. It is extremely comforting to know that there is some order working in the universe. I live by synchronicity the way that some people live by the traditions of religion. If a person is open to this way of seeing, then synchronicity becomes more and more integrated into their daily life. Synchronicity is my faith. My like-minded friend and I refer to these "incidents" as the "Divine Practical Joke", or DPJs... I feel that coincidence is a man made construct deployed by non-believers (of synchronicity). As far as the coincidence vs. sign, perhaps it is a matter of degrees of relevance and depth and just how intensely the recipient interprets the signal. I also think that a person should choose whatever path of faith that best works for them. I am more than aware that many, many people do not see things the way that I do. Though, there are some who do! Works for me!

For the most part yes. Here and there, I do sometimes get the feeling that someone upstairs is just fucking with me.

Well God has more of a effect in peoples lives than they realize. some just can't see it as well as others ; I think I can safely say at least that much, at least from my perspective as a Catholic. but I think you could sort of say this... those who are more of the atheist type tend to see 'random occurrences' as just a coincidence. a Christian on the other hand will tend to see at least some stuff as God's hand. I have heard a Priest talk about stuff that happened in his life in a homily a while ago, like how it played out, which I tend to see as God's hand (but a atheist type would almost surely call it a coincidence). like some of those situations where things 'just happen' to fall into place etc could be seen as God's hand in things. I am not claiming to be a expert or anything though as I think even those who can see a bit of that stuff ain't going to see everything as we are humans are the end of the day as I think even among believers (Christians) some seem to be quick to say God did it all (like every little thing(like some of my relatives)) and others (like myself) are a bit more cautious (as in not as quick to say God did it for every little thing) and need a bit more before they start seeing God's hand active in their lives etc. either way, it's possible both are right here though but since we are humans we tend to be a bit flawed and don't always see things clearly. who knows, maybe they can see things I can't more clearly as maybe they are a bit higher in the holiness dept ; because I kind of assume the more holy one becomes the more they can see things clearly as the more into sin one becomes the more blind they become not just in seeing God's hand in their lives but in terms of right/wrong etc to. politicidal To me that suggests the answer to the topic is a possible 'no' for you.
