I was watching one of my favorite movies, Margin Call, last night and I just couldn't help thinking how great of an actor Kevin Spacey is and how I'd love to see him in something again. But obviously the correct answer is Louis CK. Netflix special cancelled, No more Louie, nothing. Along with Bill Burr, Norm MacDonald, and George Carlin, Louie is one of my 4 favorite standups of all time. I still watch his old specials, but god damn do i wish we got another one you didn't really watch Margin Call, c'mon. Why not? Margin Call is one of my favorite movies, I've seen it like 20 times. I got the Blu Ray and I got it downloaded

I think the vast majority of guys caught up in this probably got what they deserved, but I feel for Al Franken and Aziz Ansari. I think they probably got raw deals or humiliation over something either untrue or overblown. I agree with you 100% on Franken. He got a raw deal. I blame 0-1% former Presidential Candidate Kirsten Jello Brand. She wanted to claim the Feminism baton and basically forced him out. And if you know me, you know that Al Franken is not my kind of politician. But it doesn't matter. If you get screwed I'll say so, even if I disagree politically. Now, I have a HUGE problem with what happened to Louie CK. And if you, kl, or anyone else could give me your opinion, I'd genuinely love to hear it. Louie did NOTHING wrong. He asked for consent for a non contact sexual act. If they said no, that was the end of it. If they agreed, well then he whipped out his big ol' freckled red dick and jerked away. There was no physical intimidation or threats. No threats to ruin careers. NOTHING. All our lives we were told to get clear, definitive consent. he did just that and still lost tens of millions of dollars and is still pretty much pale balled(Get it? Cause like...he's a ginger? Instead of black balled? Is this thing on???). None of these women worked for him. Cause even if you get consent, I suppose I can see how it could be problematic if you're the boss or something. Nope. these were just fellow comedians. So what did he do wrong? I'm not trying to argue, but I would love to hear some opinions on this. I literally lost a friendship over this. I had a friend, a girl, who's a comedian in NY. No one on TV or anything, but she makes a decent living doing standup in clubs. Known her since Middle School. Even though we had our own different lives, we would still call each other and talk for hours sometimes at least once or twice a month. Well, that friendship is over and we haven't spoken in almost a year because of our fight over this Louie CK issue. So please, I honestly want to hear as many opinions on this as possible. What did he do wrong? ? Where do you stand here? An ex friend of mine suggested his show. I think it was on FX. So I gave it a try. Wasn't doing anything for me but I hung in there to see if it would grow. Then during a stand up segment, he said something I found offensive, it wasn't sexual related at all, so change the channel right away. He isn't funny so whatever befalls him, makes him go away no matter what he does right or wrong, I am good with that. My most favorite comedian is Steven Wright. Not only is he a comedy genius in every sense of the word but he says jokes that cannot ever be taken as any offense in any way to anyone or any group. Which is what all comedians should strive for.

Good God that's funnier than anything monotone Wright has ever said. The motto of every great comedian, "I don't care if I'm funny, just as long as I don;t ruffle any feathers." Bruce, Carlin, Rickles, Pryor, all have live by that credo.

I love what happened to Louie and the fact that you are butt hurt and offended by it because the asshole wasn't funny. Ever.

This has gotta be one of the worst topics for a thread I have ever seen. And what it's doing in "Sports," I have no idea.
May as well go ahead and ask, "Which serial killers are the greatest and you miss the most?"
Why in the hell give any of these pervs the time of day?

My most favorite comedian is Steven Wright. You mean close friend of, professional admirer, and multiple collaborator of Louis CK, Stephen Wright? I guess his taste in comedy must be awful by your standards.

you didn't really watch Margin Call, c'mon. Why not? Margin Call is one of my favorite movies, I've seen it like 20 times. I got the Blu Ray and I got it downloaded So Margin Call is to you what Larry Crowne is to nutsberry? Are you going to start a 'how many times have you seen Margin Call' and/or 'how many times are you going to watch Margin Call this year' poll?

The stature of someone like Louis CK shouldn't deflect what happened either. I feel like that's trying be normalized, someone's celebrity slowly making their actions less impactful because of how many ppl they entertained. Not entirely sure what you're saying, but if I understand you I think it's kinda off. If anything he was judged more harshly because he was famous, and the sliding scale went the other way in that as he for more famous he stopped doing it. I guess if we learned that Andrew Dice Clay or Carrot Top had been exposing their junk at women in private, & going to town, would it seem the same?

Being able to coerce women into sex acts in the workplace for fear of losing their job. You just can't do it anymore, and I miss that.
