There's rumors swirling around out there about bringing Derrick Rose in at the trade deadline - a lot of Sixers fans are against it - as his defense isn't the best and shooting percentage isn't the best; however I'd pull they trigger depending on what the Pistons are asking for. He's a true PG and you can put Simmons at the 4 at the end of games (they've been experimenting with this a bit anyway at times when they're running Raul, Trey or even JRich at times with Ben) as D Rose is running the point - he's a crafty vet (i.e. another adult in the room like Butler was last year). Doesn't mean you have to take the ball out of Ben's hands in transition - just the halfcourt game when it slows down. D Rose would be an upgrade over Raul and Trey. I'm not a 6ers fan, and I know it's pretty unlikely to happen, but I've been on the bandwagon of them somehow reacquiring Holiday and Oakafor for quite a while. It just seems like those would be the right pieces, and those two were drafted by Philly (at the start of "the process" I believe). It probably wouldn't work out in reality as well as it would in my head, but it would definitely create some hype in my head for the 76ers, at least for a little bit. I definitely thought (if not stated) that Josh Richardson was a pretty big downgrade from Butler. D-Rose could be an interesting addition (in a patchwork solution kind of way) to your team.

I'm kind of glad we got JRich though instead of just letting Butler walk in Free Agency without getting anything for him. He's young on a cheap contract - he's been erratic at times - especially coming back from injury but is a good defender and he has had some nice games - one of the problems is all of these nagging injuries that he's been out with and he hasn't had a lot of time to gel with the rest of the team - he'll put up a decent game at times scoring in the 20s (with good defense and floor spacing on offense) then disappear the next game. Brown's experimenting with him running the point at times when the ball isn't in Simmons/Netos/Burkes hands - kind of lukewarm on that - wish they'd pull the trigger on the D-Rose deal but have no clue what the Pistons want in return - they may want a #1 - I'd give it to them - Sixers will be drafting late anyway in upcoming drafts. I'd love to have Jrue back - just think the cost would be too high - you'd have to swap out Harris - I don't think there's anyway the Pels take Horford back.

For some reason I thought he had a $100+M contract. I'm not super big on Harris either, though. And I'm sure he does have a bit $180M contract. I'd rather have Butler over either of those. Losing Butler definitely killed some of the hype this team had, and signing Harris to $36M a year didn't help any. Butler was the versatile guy that did so many things well (but not great [except maybe guarding]) that solidified that team last year. Like he was good enough at anything to pick up the slack for others' weakness. And at 30 he's young enough to have been important long enough to win a Championship (or 2?), and maybe Embiid/Simmons could have matured their games, or the front office could have found the right complementary pieces by then. Of course Butler didn't want to stick around, so it's a moot point. Of course losing Riddick didn't help either, and there's not really that many shooters of his calibre around that aren't big name/salaried guys (Steph, Klay, etc). Just not feeling this team, this year.

Rockets have now become a joke of NBA. Harden went for something like 1-17 from 3s. We have a lunatic coach who believes in 7 man rotation. An idiot GM whose greatest achievement is Harden trade and asking his team to take 3s only but taking in poor shooters in the team. We have the biggest penny pincher of an owner. I don't even want to see Rockets game although I would probably see if they go in some sort of streak.

At Denver, At Utah (2nd of back-to-back), At Portland, and home vs Dallas this week.

That said I am being told Westbrook has cut down his stupid 3 point attempts and is concentrating on doing what he does best. That could mean he can consistently score high and bring Harden's average (rightfully) down a lot.

LeBron seeking 18 pts tonight in Philly to pass Kobe on the All-Time Leading Scorers List. Joint's gonna be hoppin' tonight folks. No word yet on Embiid. ** Edit - looks like reports are out there Embiid/Sixers are targeting next week.

Did you see that folks? So we've shown we can kick the crap out of the Bucks and Lakers. Sure we're erratic at times and play down to the competition - but that's just it - we're bored - does anybody think they can handle us in a 7 game series? Sure we may drop a game here or there in the series - but when interested - we'll just put our foot on the pedal - who can stop us folks

As long as they're healthy, any of the top 6 teams in the east have a chance at the finals.

A month's long pre-celebration is all that's left to do. Nobody is taking down the 76ers this year. They've had 20 20 vision since the Process began and it's here. Screaming tree frogs, it's here. IT'S FUCKING HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I expect they'll do better in the buyout season too.

I think the intriguing thing about a Sixers/Lakers series would be the Lakers could have the size to bang against the Sixers and might not necessarily get worn down in a 7 game series. Is Boogie coming back at all this year? They have AD, Dwight - isn't Javelle McGee still on the team - I don't recall seeing him last night (but I may be off). So if AD is healthy come playoff time - they'd have he size down low to bang with Embiid/Horford - and LeBron like Simmons - you can stick him anywhere on the court - so that would be an interesting Finals matchup.

Disclaimer - I wouldn't do this.
I wonder if Elton Brand is seeing what is going on with Ben Simmons (he's been Magic Johnson out there) and in the back of his head is entertaining calls on Embiid. You can get a ton for him.
Brown has been putting Simmons in numerous positions - i.e. like Magic and LeBron could pretty much play any position.
I wonder if Brand would pull the trigger if he could get an elite Combo Guard (Booker, CJ) who could shoot and an above average 3&D Wing who can shoot lights out from beyond the arc as well as other assets (2 unprotected 1s).
Simmons has looked tremendous as of late - he'd look MVP material with elite shooters running next to him.

I think Rose goes to the Lakers. That way they can at least attempt to monitor LeBron & AD's playoff minutes.

We're pretty much 'Lakers East' over here in terms of giant stars hanging out at big games (sorry Knicks and Nets) Anywho - my favorite movie writer/director M Night Shyalaman is a huge Sixers fans and frequently attends games - AD gave him a a shiner last night apparently -
