Al Horford: 'There's some stuff going on in the locker room'. Oh Uh. Jesus - keep it quiet - don't make that public - wish we never signed this guy - I thought he was going to be a Godsend - starting to think he joined us as a mole to infiltrate and hurt us more than help us in order to help out the Celts - first he looks 83 out there not 33 and now this

The last 3 minutes of the Toronto/ Indiana game was electric (unless you root for Indiana). 11-0 run to close out out, great team defense leading to pressure and turnovers, clutch 3s. The intensity got me excited for March Madness coming up.

btw, I don't think that's a coincidence, this team is a family & they really don't care what ppl's expectations are or not for them.

Sixers acquire Glenn Robinson III and Alec Burks from Warriors.
Sixers sent like 3 2nd Round picks.
I like it - Sixers need shooting and bench help.
Robinson is averaging 12.9 ppg and Burks 16.1 ppg.
I think these guys #s are up because the Warriors are so depleted this year.
Curious to see what 2 players the Sixers ditch to get the roster back down.
Will be hard - but would like to see one more move before the deadline - grab that combo guard to run next to Ben (it may just be Burks we just got but I'm hoping he's coming off the bench and we get an even bigger upgrade) - Zhaire, Mike Scott have little value but package them with a future 1st and seconds and cash if need be. Then you've got some shooters coming off the bench in Robinson, Burks and Furkan.

Trade Deadline - Justice Winslow headed to the Grizz for Iggy. Woj reporting Heat, Grizz and OKC working on another move involving Gallinari (was hoping we'd nab him but would need to slash some major salary - i.e. Al or Tobi) Things are getting exciting folks and we've got until 3pm when we typically get a boatload of late deals announced

D'Lo to T'Wolves Wiggins to Warriors
Little pissed we couldn't have offered Harris or Horford and a future 1st for D'Lo (add some slop in to match salaries) to have him run next to Simmons.
This starting 5 doesn't fit - square pegs in round holes- curious to see if Horford hopefully is going to the bench and Alec Burks will be starting to better balance the unit.

Again, buddy, D'Lo and Ben Simmons are not a match. It wouldn't work out. Russell needs the ball in his hands to be effective. I think he'll be pretty good for the wolves.

So brief us about Covington. I guess he was with your team for some part of last year and before that? We had our eyes on him too - but didn't have the assets to get him back - apparently Mike Scott, Zhaire Smith and a couple of 2nd Rounders wasn't good enough.
I miss him. 3&D wing. He's as streaky as they come.
I've seen him go like 0-10 from beyond the arc and he just keeps gunning and gunning and gunning. But it's like they say with all shooters - shooters gotta shoot - i.e. just keep shooting in order to break out of your slump.
I've seen him incredibly hot from beyond the arc too - he's streaky - that's the best way to describe him.
He's pretty much a catch and shoot player - i.e. - he can't break down a defender in isolation and don't expect him to take the ball to the hoop - maybe he grew a little bit in these areas as a T'Wolve - but this is what we got here in Philly.
I think some people here expected too much of him at times - to me he would have been a great 6th man (just like Saric) - I think a lot of people expected him here to develop his game a bit more and keep growing his game - i.e. in Iso and taking the ball to the hoop.
He's a great defender. A good player. Pretty much catch and shoot from beyond the arc and terrific defender.
Wouldn't have minded getting him back by tomorrow's deadline at 3.
Covington was 4-7 from 3s. I bet he would get more open looks playing on Rocket and that can slightly boost his accuracy. He really has a long wingspan and can really put a new life in this Rockets team. Because of him we finally played a 9 man deep team in ages.

That's why it's not working out for the Sixers - it's why they gave Butler the ball late in games last year - the game slows down and turns more into a halfcourt game and the Sixers need a ball handler - the 4th quarter - and typically the last few minutes of a game - are typically when Ben disappears - comes up with head scratching turnovers at times - because he's a detriment in the halfcourt game.
D'Lo would have the ball in his hands in halfcourt sets. It was the plan for Fultz - a PG - but would be a Combo Guard to run next to Simmons playing at the 2 - they would have shared ball handling responsibilities.
It's pretty much why half this fanbase is divided screaming to get a traditional PG and put Ben at the 4 - to me that's not really the answer - you have to put a Combo Guard next to him to share ball handling responsibilites - he flourishes in transition - is a detriment in halfcourt.

He's a professional too - i.e. you don't have to worry about him creating any controversy, complaining in the media, etc.
Meanwhile we've lost 4 in a row.
Joel Embiid after the game stated he needs to go back to being his typical joyful fun loving self in order to succeed and he came into the year stating he's going to be serious and it's not working so he's going back to his old fun loving self - yeah - we heard this over a month ago - think of something else Bub.
Next game vs. Memphis - Burks and Robinson didn't play last night so maybe they'll help.

C's did nothing at the deadline, which I'm fine with. We could use some interior D but it's not like the Center position has been some massive Achilles heel for us this season. If the value isn't there, don't make a move. We have to make a move on draft night, though. We have too many young guys, and three more 1st round picks this year that we don't need. Dump those picks for picks down the line for all I care, but we don't need 3 more marginal players splitting time between the C's and Red Claws next season.
