Charles Barkley and Stephen A. Smith - Have both picked the Philadelphia 76ers to represent the Eastern Conference in the 2019/20 NBA Finals. Oh My God! It's Happening! Stay Calm! Everybody Calm Down! It's Happening! Stay Calm!

All that's left to do now is plan our spots on the parade route. Process complete and mission accomplished!

I’d like to congratulate the entire city of Philadelphia on this amazing accomplishment. Through God anything is possible. Hopefully they’ll make it back to defend their title next season!

Westgate Las Vegas Odds to Win Title:
Clips +350 (i.e bet $100 to win $350) Lakers +400 Bucks +600 Sixers +800 Rockets +800 Warriors +1200 Jazz +1400 Nuggets +1600 Celtics +2500 Blazers +4000
I really like the Jazz and Nuggets as sleepers (i.e. not heavy favorites) to an extent if you can call them that in the West

They will need their center to be really healthy during the playoffs to make it to the finals. Where does Boston stand this season? Will be interesting to see Indiana and if they can have another good regular season.

Great. They will need their center to be really healthy during the layoffs to make it to the finals. Where does Boston stand this season? Will be interesting to see Indiana and if they can have another good regular season. I'm fascinated with how they're going to use Al Horford. He's 33 and has had some knee issues. Apparently they're going to start him at the '4' and move Harris to the '3'. But Brand stated a large portion of Al's role will be back up Embiid. So Brown staggering minutes and juggling lineups is going to be fascinating to watch. Embiid's health is the key - keeping him fresh for the playoffs as is Horfords. I expect a lot of 'Load Managements' - i.e. days off on back to back games for Embiid. I wouldn't play him over 32 minutes a game - and as far as Horford not more than 28-32 minutes a game. If Embiid/Horford are fresh come playoff time - they'll be scary. It sounds crazy to pay a guy $100 mil for 4 years - but my plan would be Horford is just pretty much Embiid's backup to protect Jo-Jo and keep him healthy and give him substantial rest. That's how important a fresh Embiid is come playoff time. But that's not going to happen - Al will be at the '4' a lot too. This is where Kyle O'Quinn comes in. Little offense but a good defender who I expect to get a lot of minutes spotting both Embiid and Horford. They've also got Jonah Bolden (not a fan) who they can spot minutes at the '5' - and a beast in the block with a 2 way contract down in the G-League named Norvel Pelle who they can call up 10 times when Embiid/Horford are given a night off. Pelle is a human highlight reel who racks up dunks, blocks and rebounds but just don't ask him to pop a 'J' - he'll only be up here for 10 games or so. Also if they play small ball - Mike Scott and even Ben can play the '5' at times depending on matchups. I expect Boston to be the 3/4 seed. Addition of Kemba is big and subtraction of Kyrie is a bonus in my eyes. Maybe they'll get some of that chemistry back they had a couple of years ago when Kyrie was on the shelf. Curious to see what Ainge does at the trade deadline to make a push for the top of the East. i.e. if somebody like Jaylen Brown is on the trading block. I like Indiana's team once Oladipo returns. They lost Thad Young but picked up a really nice addition in Malcolm Brogdon. I expect them and Boston to fight for the 3 seed. Can't wait for Durant to come back next year - that propels the Nets in this discussion too. Good luck to your Rockets - Sixers / Rockets would be a fun Finals. Just saw they signed Sefolosha (defensive vet presence)

Will be a good time to be a sixer if your team says healthy. The coach is the only issue.

I don't see the Rapts anywhere on that Top 10 from Westgate Odds above I wonder if they'll be looking to dump Kyle Lowry at the trade deadline when they're floundering in the 5th-8th seed in the East come February

I like the kid - I was shocked by his production. I think in the same draft the Sixers took Furkan and TLC before him and Siakam went late 1st

What doesn't hurt the Raptors psyche all that much was Leonard was literally a 1 year wonder for the room. The youth wasn't developing over years with him to have to wear it alone now. Hell, their load management record sans Kawhi was perfectly fine.

Kiss of death for the Sixers!
I will believe Simmons has developed a consistent jump shot when I see it in a game when it really matters.
But his shot is even worse than Lebrick's!

I would of course participate whenever I get time. I would be more active on weekends. I am going to be a less emotional Rockets fan this time. I actually do not believe James Harden and Westbrook are good players in the playoffs. But unlike most others here I thoroughly enjoy the regular season and I am expecting Rockets to do reasonably well in the regular season. I think it would be fun for you too as the addition of Horford makes you guys stronger than the last year.

Kyrie Irving has stated at Nets Media Day: "I'm the next one and meant to take over this league for the next few years"
