ESPN - 'Sources described Simmons as emotional leaving the X-Ray room at the Fiserv Forum late Saturday'. Oh shit.

What about Rockets win and Westbrook's domination over Rudy? Can this team make a run for no.2 seed in the west?

What about Rockets win and Westbrook's domination over Rudy? Can this team make a run for no.2 seed in the west? I didn't see the game, or highlights; but why would they put Rudy on Russ? Westbrook is a lot faster, quicker, more agile and athletic, and he must have taken Rudy out of the middle on a regular basis. Who was Conley guarding?

What about Rockets win and Westbrook's domination over Rudy? Can this team make a run for no.2 seed in the west? I didn't see the game, or highlights; but why would they put Rudy on Russ? Westbrook is a lot faster, quicker, more agile and athletic, and he must have taken Rudy out of the middle on a regular basis. They decided that the most rational choice to defend Westbrook would be Rudy.
"The most logical answer, Jazz coach Quin Snyder has concluded, is to put Gobert on Westbrook. Gobert's rim protection would be mitigated if he guarded P.J. Tucker, who is listed as a center but is utilized offensively almost solely as a 3-point shooter, pulling his man away from the basket. Gobert sags far off Westbrook, daring him to take the jumper that the All-Star guard typically hits at a subpar percentage, and limiting his opportunities as a facilitator.
"I think I would do it again," Gobert said. "Having Russ being guarded by one of our guards is a mismatch. When I'm guarding him, at least he doesn't get to the rim. He's going to miss shots, he's going to make shots, but at least he doesn't break us down and bring the double team and find his teammates."
Westbrook had 14-of-26 shooting in that game. Didn't see the whole game but for most part that I saw I found him to be guarding Roco and occasionally Gordon or just standing in absurd positions waiting for Harden or Westbrook to attack. Given that he is a pretty solid defender he should be the one guarding Westbrook in my opinion.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I need to check out the highlights for that game. I'm thinking if Russ can get Rudy out to guard him at midrange he can beat him off the dribble and get to the basket before Rudy and recover enough to block him.

Lakers down Celts.
Everybody in Milwaukee can breathe a sigh of relief - the Bucks have clinched a playoff spot.

I kind of assume it's going to boil down to... Bucks/Lakers/Clippers for the title which seems to be the common word for quite some time now as I think if anyone wins the NBA title besides one of those three teams it will be a surprise.
personally I hope the Bucks win. the hell with King Ego (i.e. Lebron James) and while I like Kawhi Leonard he already won a championship last year.
the 76ers are good but definitely not NBA championship level as they are too inconsistent to beat the Bucks in a 7 game series. I like Embiid though.
the Rockets I don't think have much of a chance as they are good but they never seem to be able to crack that elite level.
the Blazers have been a disappointment as they seemed to be under-performing and teams like Jazz/Nuggets will ultimately fizzle out as I just can't see them taking out what's clearly the elite teams in the West which are Lakers/Clippers as if anyone else besides one of those two teams comes out of the West ill be surprised and I think so will most other people.
p.s. who the hell voted for Warriors? ; they obviously have no chance when it's just Curry without Thompson etc. even with Curry/Thompson, while they will obviously improve, I just don't see championship level at the end of the day without them getting more pieces. their best days are likely behind them as their age is starting to push it as they probably don't have many quality years left. NOTE: I like Curry/Thompson but they just ain't got any realistic chance of winning it all, especially not this year and probably not for the foreseeable future either.

I'm impressed (shocked) at how well the Raptors are playing.
I think whoever voted for the Warriors - was probably very before Steph got hurt and there were rumors swirling Klay might be back for the playoffs.
Probably had the mindset Steph, Klay and Draymond did it before without Durant - so it's possible again.
I'm riding with my Sixers vote (yes I'm a homer) - of course this could all come crashing down today when we get word on Simmons MRI

Heat are just as bad as the Sixers on the road lately. Lost a 19 point 4th quarter lead in Cleveland and lost in OT.
Iguodala's useless.

I'd like to see the Jazz move up, leaving the Clippers & Rockets at 4 & 5 to erode each other 1st round.

screamingtreefrogsYeah, it seems that's the general word to in that everyone assumed the Raptors were going to take a solid hit without Kawhi. but are doing surprisingly well as they were one of those surprise teams in a good way. Hell, even if Curry never got injured with his hand, there was little to no chance of them winning. even if Thompson came back in the playoffs, even assuming the Warriors had a decent enough record to make it (which I am not sure if they would have) to the playoffs, one can't really just turn it on after being out THAT long. so I just assumed Thompson won't be back til the 2020-2021 season. so basically for the Warriors it's all about 2020-2021 as this year is totally shot. but given how bad they are now, just to get Curry back will probably feel like they are walking on water. lol p.s. I still can't believe they blew a 3-1 series lead against King Ego (Lebron James) ; but I heard if they did win that year there was a chance Durant might not have joined the Warriors team. so them losing, might have paid off for them if that was true. Yeah, the 76ers at least have a chance at making the finals but I think many just assume it's going to be the Bucks because there are very few teams that got a chance in the east that could beat the Bucks in a 7 game series, especially since they are going to have to win at least one game at the bucks stadium and given it's possible the Bucks could crack 70 wins this season, you just tend to assume teams who pull that off got a high chance of winning the championship even though the Warriors blew a 73-9 season against King Ego in the finals when they were up 3-1. I think Emiid's problem is he's a bit inconsistent as some days he's pretty strong and others, just feels like he's going threw the motions a bit. but personally, I think some of it is this... he just does not have that higher drive to win like some do. because a very select few (like Michael Jordan/Kobe Bryant etc) have a burning passion to win and obsess over it which separates them from the very good players. because people like Embiid seem to rely more on their general size/basic talent. p.s. but one things for damn sure... whoever goes against the Lakers I go for by default as I can't stand King Ego(LeBron).

Pelicans: Zion predicts he will average 20 and 10. Easy big fella - I get we're going into to positionless ball here and you can pretty much put him at 3,4 or even 5 depending on matchups on the court - but NBA stars are quicker and stronger and he's got to get accustomed to the game. I think 17 and 8 would be a good rookie year for him. Points are higher, boards are lower. 22.8 and 7.2 so far in 12 games, and the first couple he was limited. 25.4 and 6.7 in his 7 February games.

I actually do believe that the Sixers will still represent the East in the Finals. They just have the most talented team and they seem to have figured out the rotations. I am anxious to see the game on Saturday at the Bucks. I would say Bledsoe, Giannis, Middleton and Lopez are every bit as good as Simmons, Embiid, Harris and [insert mediocre 4th player here]. I just don't think [insert below average acquisition here] puts them over the top, and [insert currently injured average player here] is currently injured. Besides Giannis, Embiid and Simmons are far and away better than any other player on the Bucks. Lopez? Hilarious. Richardson and Harris are far better than him. Bledsoe is a role player, nothing more.

I still think the Raptors can win in Milwaukee, again, when it really matters. Giannis though seems to be playing like a monster truck.

Simmons -
Nerve impingement
To be re-evaluated in 2 weeks.
Just hold him out until the playoffs and try to get his back right (if he's ready) - although home court advantage may be crucial (for this team at least) - they're going to dip no lower than #6 in the seedings

Bledsoe is a role player, nothing more. Giannis 》 Embiid Middleton > Simmons Bledsoe > Harris Lopez > Richardson This is hilariously inaccurate. On what planet is Middleton better than Simmons ha ha? Bledsoe is better than Harris! Hilarious. You can't make this stuff up folks.
