Does that mean they would be in trouble against Miami, whom they are 1-3 against this year? Healthy Milwaukee, Toronto and Boston go up 2-0 at home, win game 3 against a mentally weak Philly team at home, then watch as the Sixers just give up in game 4. That's the first round. If they get lucky and don't have to play these teams in the first round, they might gain some confidence and push it to a game 6. If memory serves -
We blew the Heat out 1 game They blew us out 1 game
The won the other 2 - but they were squeekers - i.e. relatively tight.
They're young and don't have the playoff experience (Herro & Bam) - not being a homer - but 7 game series with a healthy Ben, Joel, JRich (who's also out again) - I'm taking us.
I think Bam's been around for a couple of years now - can't remember if the Heat have been in the playoffs though.
And they have 2 blow out wins against Boston, 1 squeaker, and a blowout loss. My point was that if he was going to hide behind the 6ers record against Boston, he'd have to reconcile that with their record vs Miami (who I didn't include as I think Philly would beat the Heat).

Philly fully healthy is a better team than Boston, Miami, or Toronto. They should win those games. I also find it funny that you think Philly would easily lose two games at home, where they have the best record in the NBA. By what metric did you come by this? I think Philly is mentally weak and terrible on the road. They would lose the first two games on the road to any of those 3 teams, and then I believe they would give up. Time will tell. Maybe they'll hold off the Pacers and face Miami in the first round.

But we can agree that 2 blow wins is more impressive than just 1, no?
Anyway - the Sixers have shown they can beat anybody - you name it - Bucks, Lakers, Clippers, Raptors, Heat, Celtics, Pacers, Nuggets, Jazz - they've yet to play the Rockets for their 2nd game.
I think in a 7 game series - with Brett Brown fighting for his life/76ers coaching career - with a healthy Embiid/Simmons - I think the chances of them getting swept are rather slim.
What worries me is mum is the word on Simmons.
I'm terrified he's done for the year.
Hopefully he can make it back for the playoffs.

We can agree that 2 is better than 1, but I would say that hardly constitutes a sure fire path to victory over the team you won 3 against, and creates a negligible disadvantage against the team you lost 3 against.

Injury - riddled team that lacks consistency and cohesion, with its two best players who play better without each other, and the 23rd worst road record in basketball. Add it all up and it looks like a clean sweep to me.

Add it all up and it looks like a clean sweep to me. I mean - I get what you're saying
If they go down 2-0.
Then come home and get shocked in Game 3.
So let's say they're down 0-3.
Despite them being Bipolar this year and showing no fight at times and no guts for that matter - I can't see them getting swept being Game 4 would be on our home court.
Want to talk about an outrage - I'd fear for trash being thrown on the court - I'd fear for Brown's safety going to the lockerroom
In a situation like that - I think they wouldn't roll over like dogs - they just wouldn't allow it.
I get how you never want to just 'flip the switch'. i.e. just turn it on for the playoffs - but I really think this team is going to be fine if both Simmons/Embiid are healthy.
I honestly think they beat the Celts, Heat and Pacers in Round 1.
Toronto?
Now that's a different a story. Revenge series - but they've completely owned us up there.
I want to avoid them at all costs Round 1 - but I'm going to have to go with my heart and still pick the Sixers

Per ESPN's Ramona Shelburne:
"Simmons will be reevaluated next week as the Sixers wait for the inflammation around the nerve to subside. The team hopes he can return before the playoffs, with enough time to get back into shape."
Embiid could be ready this Wednesday.
No word on J-Rich (concussion)

Sixers / Celtics Flyers / Bruins
Come playoff time - especially on this board since we have both Philly/Boston fans

Raptors clinch I believe for the earliest game/date in franchise history. All without clinching a f'n healthy lineup since forever. At the Warriors no less ftw.
How do we feel about San Francisco Warriors? Curry's first game back, they had that on their unis & the floor logo. I think Golden State's days as name could be numbered.

You are saying Philly gets swept, which is honestly just a dumb comment that doesn't even deserve the time and energy I have already put into replying. It is just a flat out dumb take.

kenny atkinson out as Nets coach
they're a disappointing team.
i'm not even talking about Kyrie being injured a lot of the year and KD being out all year - they were decent last year and were supposed to be an up and coming team

If that was max 2020 LeBron & AD, I really don't think they can defeat the Clippers in 7 games.
Hopefully that shook the Bucks up a little for the East now - they can't possibly be sleeping about feeling like the #1 title favourite now.
