cosmicbook.news/henry-cavill-superman-chris-hemsworth-thorWe asked our fans who would win between the pair of comic book heavyweights, with nearly 4000 fans voting in the poll who overwhelmingly are in favor of the Henry Cavill Superman coming out on top in a battle, as 58% of the vote went to the Man of Steel to Chris Hemsworth's Thor receiving 42%. Do you agree or disagree? I get it, Superman is pretty OP, the super speed in particular would be a major advantage for him. They've got one going for Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel and the former is dominating the poll but that's likely just because of the sheer hatred towards that character as no way would she beat Captain Marvel.

Superman, Thor, Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman are all extremely powerful. Whoever wins would depend on who the writer gives the most plot armour to.

Captain Marvel seemed Uber powerful in the movies more comparable to Superman, she was even beating Thanks at one point.
Wonder Woman....she doesn't seem in the same league.
Superman vs Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman vs Thor would be the more comparable I think.

I’d love to see Supes wipe the smile off that Thor tit’s face.

I get that, Superman was hit by a Nuke and he survived that. He's got super speed whereas Thor doesn't really move particulary fast in a fight or anything, even Quicksilver made him look like he was standing still.
Captain Marvel would be the better fight.

It all boils down to two things, which company is in charge of the story, and which writer have they hired, which is evident if you have read any Batman story in the last 30 years, fuck making sense Batman wins why because he's Batman...fuck Batman

It really depends if you keep the weakness to magic.
Thor is science & magic combined.
That might give Supes a disadvantage

It really depends if you keep the weakness to magic. Thor is science & magic combined. That might give Supes a disadvantage Depends on more than that, depends on which version of Thor you are talking about, MCU Thor isn't magical, his mother, father & brother could use it but Thor is never shown actually having "magical" powers, his powers are just whatever they are similar to Kryptonians powers.
Also depends on which version of Superman you use, fucking dudes been given so many one off powers it's insane, also depends on what weakness's in total you give to each, sometimes Kryptonians breath in space or underwater fine other times they need suits, or at the least breathing apparatus, Thor I think is the same, also depends on what power level we set them at, Superman can tow planets in some instances and Thor can harness the Odin force, Superman can also weild Mjolnir and in some instances Thor reverts to human without it for too long.
All boils down to the whim of the writers which make these sort of thing fun but pointless because we can all just write any excuse out of butts to justify the one we want to win.

Superman was allowed to use Mjolnir. It's not just a worthy thing. People miss that. Deleted scene from the first Thor movie, Thor used healing stones on Erik who was cut by a window. That's more magic. Look at that bit at the end with Strange & Thor So earth has magic now.

Again depends on the writers, these aren't real people with set defined powers and abilities, at best we know their bare minimum power levels all versions must meet but nothing more, and ok Superman was allowed to use Mjlonir, Thor sometimes isn't allowed to wield it, again writers prerogative, if I was writing /I could write Superman can use Mjolnir and is capable of destroying it with a powerful clench of his butt cheeks whilst Thor can summon leprechauns with the power of rainbows that emanate from his peepee every time he self gratifies, if I am the writer what I says goes hence so many contradictions and stupid retcons in almost every characters history.

Does Thor's lightning count as Magic? I just thought it was lightning not any kind of magic lightning.

If we're only taking movie versions, I would have said Thor would win prior to Justice League. But Superman's powers got amped so much in that movie that he became boring.

What’s the comparison between Superman and Captain America? What about btw Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne? I’m surprised Thor scored as high as 42%. Without the hammer, he’s not that powerful...and he could not work a regular human job either like Clark Kent. Have you watched Ragnarok?
