They emerged alongside the Noisettes, both bands having formed in 2003. The Pipettes released their debut album in 2006 (the Noisettes' debut appeared in 2007). Backing the Pipettes were the Cassettes, led by Big Monster Bobby. They were sometimes joined by dance troupe the Actionettes.

I first saw them playing a small room supporting The 5,6,7,8's and The Priscillas. They were fantastic. Love the first album, the second (after line-up changes) wasn't nearly as good.
Rose Elinor Dougall (the brunette) and Gwenno's (the blonde without glasses) solo albums are pretty good as well.

I've seen them a few times...much stronger live That gig with The Pipettes was a pretty strong triple header.

In fact, back when "We Are The Pipettes" was released, I picked up the CD. I was doing a road trip - following the local hockey team. I needed something new to listen to, so that fit the bill.
LOVE the song "Your Kisses Are Wasted On Me".
