Today is the first day of fall for those of us in the northern hemisphere. For you oddballs in the southern hemisphere you have a couple of days until the first day of spring.

Yeah, it's been fall for about a week now but it still feels like summer. Which means we're in for a nasty winter. I can feel it.
I'm old school when it comes to when the start of the seasons are. I like to start it on the equinoxes and solstices. For example, the vernal equinox for the southern hemisphere was on September 23. Which was the same day the northern hemisphere had its autumnal equinox.

Fall may be my favorite season; it's not too hot, it's not too cold. You can get by with a light jacket. All the plants are dying, so I don't have as much issue with allergies like I do in spring. And I swear there's a distinct smell in the air - maybe the dried leave, I'm not sure.

I love the cool, crisp air of fall. You are right, there is a distinct smell to the season. If it it is the dried leaves it means we're breathing in tree corpses. And I find that pretty brutal.

I don't care much for the outdoors; and I found out last year I'm allergic to trees and grass, so I'm actually kind of okay with it....
