Which Ridley Scott masterpiece do you prefer? Too bad his career after 1982 has been terribly erratic. Anyway, back to the query at hand. I've come to appreciate Blade Runner's slow burn, dreamlike aesthetic more plus it's in the ranking for best looking movie ever. However, with Alien, I find it has greater replay value.

Alien. I found the original blade runner too incoherent. Alien is elegantly simple.

Yes, the soundtrack is one of the big pluses for me with that film. It's amazing. Vangelis is great. The world building in Blade Runner is wonderful. It doesn't hurt that it stars one of my favorite actors in his prime, and has one of the most memorable closing sequences of any film.

"Alien" of course, because it actually IS a masterpiece unlike Blade Runner which flopped at the domestic box office and is so fundamentally flawed, it took SIX attempts to fix it.

Both are fantastic, but I prefer Alien. Blade Runner is a strong 9/10, while Alien is a 10/10 all-around and one of my favorite movies.

The original blade runner, with voice over narration, was on TV last week. Watched it off and on. Haven't seen that version in years.
