you know - i actually went into last night's game thinking to myself - if we can sweep this 5 game set vs. the Gnats - and then finish out the season sweeping the Fish for an epic 8 game winning streak to close out the season - there just may be a glimmer of hope if we get some help from other teams. and then we lost 7-2 last night

Playing for my fantasy title. Took a chance on Matz as a 2-starter because he's better on the road. Mets left him in after 3 straight hits by Miami in the 6th and he gives up a Papa Slam. And now I'm stuck with him pitching again.
I really need Scherzer to be Scherzer today and Gray and Flaherty to have clunkers.

Home (including last night): 7-2, 2.47, 1.147 WHIP across 83.2 innings (14 GS) Away: 3-8, 6.62, 1.585 WHIP across 70.2 innings (15 GS) He definitely shit the bed last night, although the Marlins are always a thorn in the Mets side no matter what.

It would take a miracle and some dark arts for the Mets to sneak their way into October baseball.

The Cubs’ implosion continues; give up 7 to Pittsburgh in 1/2 of an inning after leading 1-0.
