Usually I don't but I decided today I'd make a schedule.
Starting with:
1. Inglorious Basterds 2. Valkyrie 3. A Few Good Men
How about you guys?

Sometimes I will if I haven't watched one in a while but most of the time I just wing it.

Usually for a 2-3 week window actually, I'll make a mini stack of dvds. Maybe I'll get to all of them, maybe I won't. I'm bad at deciding last minute, + it lets me gather themes/tastes in advance.
From my top 50, I've 2 titles designated for each month of the year; the rest I'll watch anytime. Keep in mind, titles like Jaws, It's a Wonderful Life, Halloween, are built in for that. I watch all Wes Andersons every new year for a boost.

I don't have plans. I watch films at random. Sometimes I plan something for the next day, but almost always end up watching something else instead.

Not really. It just depends what kind of mood I'm in I guess.

I take psychedelics once a week, and I usually plan out which films I'll watch during my adventure, if I don't go out somewhere.
Old black and white films are great to watch on mushrooms, especially films from men like Orson Welles and Alfred Hitchcock. Those Lord of the Ring movies ain't bad in that state of mind either.

Sometimes, I selectively plan on what I want to watch unless a mishap like a Blu-ray or DVD skipping or freezing ruins it. However, for most days, I choose whatever movie I feel I'm in the mood to watch.

Not usually.
Sometimes I'll let my eyes drift over my collection while watching television and pick out a title.
Once I decided to watch every movie I own from A to Z in that order, one each night. Took me well over a year to reach the last one. Don't think I'll be doing that again. The collection has grown significantly.

I plan a lot but my plans tend to fall apart due to my erratic and unpredictable nature and changeable moods. Scheduling rarely works well for me.

I plan a lot but my plans tend to fall apart due to my erratic and unpredictable nature and changeable moods. Scheduling rarely works well for me. Yeah, I keep doing this, time after time. I guess sometimes it is quite easy, as I have a sense of what kind of movie or entertainment I am in for that night, but again, things have a tendacy to change, just within a couple of hours. However, I do have plans (I have been saying this to myself for a few years now) to re-watch a big bundle of 80s slasher movies, but then there are all these others film I also want to watch, and it is as you mentioned, a lot of times, the mood I am in, might suddenly move towards something very different. But usually I end up, with a few films, lined up, 3-5 and then trying to close the ones I want to watch the most, but even then, with all these films just lying around for free on Youtube and other sites, that does not make it anymore easy, and I hate when I just pick something out of the blue, and it is very rarely a "great" one, but I do have my moments, from time to time. For me, cheesy and over the top 80s and early 90s action films, usually works best on late friday nights, where as on saturdays, I am in the mood for a bit of a comedy, or drama, maybe something in between of those two genres, while sunday, well, I just see where it goes from there. Not easy these days, as the European Cup is going on into the late stages, and have seen so many football matches lately, kind of dried up a bit, but I guess the craving for watching movies will come back in full force, later on.

Usually not unless I’m watching with other people or some specific purpose.

When the pandemic started and suddenly I was spending a lot more free time at home, I realised that I was wasting too much time every day just trying to decide what to watch. So to make things easier for myself, I went through the spreadsheet that I use to keep track of my collection of movies and made a selection of those that I wanted to watch with a higher priority. I also made a different spreadsheet with the movies on my Netflix list and ordered by priority.
So now the process of choosing a movie to watch is much easier: I just consult my list and pick one from near the top - not necessarily the one at the top, as depending on runtime and my mood I might not feel like watching that one on that day.
I don’t always stick to it, of course. Sometimes someone suggests a movie or I read about a movie or something happens that reminds me of a movie that is not on my list of priorities, and I watch it right away.

Mondays are rewatches. Tuesdays are usually films up to 1966. Wednesdays are mixed. Thursdays--my spaghetti western or 1967--70s. Fridays are my tv and post 1985 movies. Saturdays can tv and movies but usually I watch from 1970s.
Sundays occasionally I'd watch something but not lately.
I also will pick movies based on anniversaries. I have been watching 1961/71/81...
And only at night. I used to watch tv in daytime but not in a long time.

No real schedules, but if it's a sci fi film, particularly something that takes place in space, I tend to watch at night. Lots of modern films are also not lit all that great (modern directors tend to like dark environments) so I watch them at night too. B&W and older color films I'll watch mainly during the day. A lot of this has to do with my house, it has a lot of windows and I dont have a dedicated media room.

I hear you. The range of choice available these days greatly complicates things. 20 years ago, I had a modest VHS collection and I'd simply pick a movie to watch out of a limited number of options. Whereas nowadays, with DVDs, Blu Rays, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, iTunes, free Youtube movies and films recorded off the TV, the list of options feels endless and I struggle to come to any sort of decision. The autumn months are the easiest for me, since I only watch horror movies then. But I'm confounded much of the rest of the year. I often choose TV shows over movies. The episodes are shorter and therefore more digestible, I'm already familiar the characters and setting a lot of the time and a show can hold my attention for weeks on end, whereas with a movie its one-and-done.
