I can't remember the last time I done this. Growing up in the late 80s and into the 90s, this was pretty common. Now, with everything streaming and digital, waiting to catch a specific movie or see what's on late is pretty much non-existent now. This meant commercial breaks, and depending on the station, sometimes edited or not at all. Case in point, it's how I discovered The Blob (1988) which kept all its gory goodness.

Hong Kong movies. When I was a kid one of the TV channels had a Hong Kong season over Christmas...a different film every night - introduced me to the likes of Police Story, Mr Vampire and Zu Warriors from the Magic Mountain

A lot of goofy sci-fi and horror movies, off the top of my head I can remember Highway to Hell, Hell Comes to Frogtown, Assault of the Killer Bimbos, Night of the Creeps, classic C-grade or less movies.

I seem to remember catching a lot of those Italian made post apocalyptic films made back in the 1980's. Plus, USA's Up All Night introduced me to some pretty lame movies (of course they probably were better if they hadn't been cut up so badly). I mainly watched it for Rhonda Shear though... One of the first really awesome movies I ever really remember catching on TV though, was when ABC used to have the "Sunday Night Movie" and I caught the Omega Man. Must have been sometime in the very early 1980's. I've loved that film ever since.

I work late nights, sometimes hours away from my home. George Norry and Art Bell have kept me from swerving off the road for years.

Jack's Back, which is a rather well crafted whodunit rather than the exploitative slasher flick the title and premise suggest it to be.
