Well, you’re not wrong, but I think that’s what most people recognize him for anyway. Sure .. now ! But when the first film was made, Freddie was unrecognizable as Englund !
Poor man was typecast as that one character .. rather like George R as Superman ! BUT that's a whole 'nuther thread, eh ? I mostly think of him as this sweet, innocent and wimpy alien from the 80's Sci fi TV series called V because that is where I first saw him. All the other aliens were enemies except for him. Interesting. Never heard of that show.

Interesting. Never heard of that show. Here are some brief clips of him. Keep in mind that he is playing an alien and then he ends up helping the humans fight back against his own. The total opposite of Freddie! And I looked up his acting resume on IMDb. He has been on the screen since 1974! If interested you can read more about V, the original or the reboot, from here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_(TV_series)From back in the day when networks still aired mini series, TV movies and just better shows before this lousy "reality" trend.

Helena Bonham Carter as resurrected Elizabeth in Mary Shelly's Frankenstein comes darn close. Likewise, Robert De Niro in the same picture. Charlize Theron in Monster.

This is a thread that really would have benefited from a "required" image ! If needed, Volunteers could fill them in. it's been a Fun thread !

Charlize Theron in Monster. That kind of casting is one of my pet peeves …. as if there are no "non-classically beautiful" actors .. they have to ugly-fy a beauty ! ok, rant over
