Astronomy is fun. 
What do you plan on looking at? It's hard to see other planets IMO.
I bought it like 6 months ago, and try to find planets and moons, yes they are hard to see and find, so far i have only found Mars and Venus and Jupiter,

What was it?  air tickets to Korea and then Europe and then few diff places in the US. Should be going to Brazil and New Zealand next month but I dont think I can keep spending so much... even though i would love to go and see both. |

Put on a new roof a few weeks ago. $8400.
No, I didn't want to do it, but I was forced into by gutters that were installed incorrectly and caused the lower edge of my roof decking to rot, and then squirrels decided to chew a portion of the rotten part out even more.
The roof was getting old anyways, but I should have had at least 3 to 5 more years.
Fun stuff.

A car and parts for my car. Have to keep it running so that I can go to work to pay the bills. 
As for other things:
I do spend $50.00 every now and then on iTunes gift cards. I like to prepay on my Apple account.
Last tangible thing I spent on myself was the 30th anniversary box set of ".....and Justice For All" by Metallica.

The benefit The benefit I have at work is I can borrow from my pension. I borrowed $28K and when I pay it back, I'm paying me back and not a bank.

Got some money together to help my mother travel abroad to see family, she couldn't pay the bills and travel too, so I found the bill money she needs. She sees this as potentially her final holiday to see parts of the family due to age, and she helped me a lot when I was a young, ignorant, wayward, ungrateful, reactionary fool, so glad I could get a reasonable sum together in time. But need to knuckle down again (after Halloween!) ... though, it's all good ...
