We lit the lamp 5 times in the 3rd boys on the way to a 6-1 victory over the Maple Turds. That's 16-7-5 on the year for the Orange Crush fellas. Ghosty with a goal and an assist on the night. Side note - Raffy broke his finger - out 4 weeks. Uh, 4 of those goals came in the last couple minutes when the game was over. Since when is a 2-1 game over before the clock reads 0:00? I've seen 2 goal deficits disappear in the final minute of the game. Hell in the playoffs a couple of years ago the Ducks erased a 3-0 deficit in the 3rd period in 3 minutes scoring the tying goal with 15 seconds left. So to contend that the Flyers scored goals in garbage time is absurd.

Think I'll dust the cobwebs off this thread.
Over the past week - leading goal scorer on the Flyers - Oskar Lindblom - 23 years old has been diagnosed with a type of bone cancer.
Horrible news.
Done for the year - the but that's secondary to the kids life.
There's a movement going on right to vote the kid as a captain for the 2020 All-Star Game.
Flyers 17-11-5 (have dropped the last 3)

I wouldn't waste a roster spot on a guy who can't play, not for such an important contest as the NHL All-Star Game.

Well, we traded our only Hart Trophy winner in franchise history( Since Crosby robbed Marty that one year by like 4 votes or some shit) Officially done. I kept thinking we'd turn it around. Don't know much about the prospects we got. I guess another Top 5 pick, so Yay? ? Fuck this shit, at least the yankees will be awesome. And the Cowboys can clinch Sunday. Don't care too much about the Nets, but they're looking solid. Penn State is ranked in BASKETBALL. So not everything is gloomy. Maybe this will be lke the Chapman thing with the Yankees. Trade him to the cubs for one of the best future infielders in the sport and then re-sign him in the off season. Except the Devils aren't the Yankees, so no. Once again, fuck this. I'm so pissed. i thought this was gonna be the year

I see what you're saying, right now the Leafs would avoid the Bruins in the 1st round, which means there may actually be hockey played in Toronto during the month of May. That'd be the first time since what, 1993?

Roenick suspended for joking about sleeping with Kathryn Tappen.
In a statement emailed to Sports Business Journal Monday afternoon, NBC Sports said: “Jeremy Roenick has been suspended indefinitely without pay for making inappropriate comments about his co-workers. We will have no further comment at this time.”
The main comments in question were likely Roenick’s remarks about NBC Sports host Kathryn Tappen, where Roenick suggested he’d be open to sleeping with her:
During the podcast, Roenick described a summer vacation he took in Portugal with his wife and NBC Sports studio host Kathryn Tappen. He told a story of how at least one hotel guest approached Roenick to ask if the three were together.
“I play it off like we’re all going to bed together every night, the three of us,” Roenick said. “If it really came to fruition, that would really be good. But it’s never going to happen.” Later during the same discussion, Roenick said that his wife and Tappen are close friends and he praised Tappen’s professionalism. “Kathryn Tappen is one of the most professional … sports personalities that I know. She is true blue one of my favorite people in the world.”
Perhaps surprisingly, though, it wasn’t just Tappen; Roenick also came to the same conclusion about longtime NHL player and current NBC Sports studio analyst Patrick Sharp.
“He is so beautiful, I’d have to think about it if he asked me,” Roenick said. “I wouldn’t say no right away.” Roenick went on to describe Sharp as “one of the greatest, greatest guys on the planet” and “one of my best friends,” pointing out that the two had been teammates on the Flyers.

Jesus, sounds like Roenick has much more on his mind than the Bruins power play. And apparently, he swings from both sides of the fence. Good for the network to suspend this bozo, we don't tune in to hear who Jeremy Roenick is having wet dreams about.

Marner 5 points in 8-6 tilt at Scotiabank. 5 wins in a row now for the Buds.
I like.

It's surreal to realize that after 20+ years, the Flyers have finally solved the goal tending black hole.

It's surreal to realize that after 20+ years, the Flyers have finally solved the goal tending black hole. Yep. It's exciting. I remember I was so excited to get Beezer - he used to kill us when he was on the Panthers - think he was just past his prime though. Unreal we once had Bobrovsky who went on to become a star for the Blue Jackets From Cechmanek to Boucher to Esche to Niittymaki to Emery to Bryz to Mason - it's been rather aggravating/mundane watching them over the years. You get the feeling this kid can steal a game on any given night - and then do the same the next game - and he's only 21. Going to be around for the next decade plus. My only wish is we had some larger than life personalities on the team - and a polarizing star who draws constant attention along the lines of a Lindros. The Legion of Doom days were some of the funnest times I've had watching sports - after they dispersed/departed - hockey became arguably my 6th favorite sport behind College Hoops, College Football, NFL, MLB and NBA.

Leafs 6 wins in a row now. Alas, giving up way too many chances & goals again.

The LoD was only together and dominate for like what, 30 games? That mid-season trade in the lockout shortened season, then in the summer they fucked it up by trading Mikael Renberg for Chris Gratton. Renberg eventually came back, but didn't have the same magic that Lindros and LeClair did. Had the Recchi/LeClair trade happened before the season, of if it was an 82 game season Lindros would have had an Art Ross (if he stayed healthy for the whole season).

2020 Winter Classic, Predators @ Stars, Cotton Bowl 1pm EST.
Leafs 8-1-1 last 10, Atlantic looks like it's already going to be Boston, Toronto, & Tampa Bay... with zero wild cards.
