Watch as Matthew McConaughey tries to do some damage control after Serenity's failure. The cast also includes Hugh Grant, Colin Farrell, Henry Golding, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, and Eddie Marsan.

Bump.
The movie comes out next month. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/iqp324knt/bounce.gif) sadly it was quite disappointing for me during the first hour, as its heavily overwritten and not in the god Aaron Sorkin way. but Hugh Grant is Amazing in it, doing his best Rickey Gervais and its Working. But thats the only trully working part about it to me during most of the movie. but then it gets better. And it sure looks cool as hell and has its fun moments. 6.5/10 from me. Maaaybe 7/10 for its exquisite use of the C word. That was good.

Really enjoyed this. And I found it to be refreshing with doses of politically incorrect humor scattered thru out. The audience I saw it with were all laughing their asses off thru out it (as were my buddies and I). Definitely a return to form for Guy Ritchie .
7.5/10

But both a Gran and Farrell were exquisite.

Its certainly not on the same level as Snatch but I found it to be entertaining overall . Hugh Grant definitely is the high light of the great cast IMO.

Fucking dreadful film. A crass, reprehensible, shockingly inept piece of garbage that only the most juvenile and non-discerning viewers could like.
And Guy Ritchie is a loathsome talentless cretin, whom I very much enjoyed seeing taken down a few pegs after Swept Away by critics like Kermode.

Filled with entertaining characters, witty banter and (admittedly telegraphed) twists. There are no heroes, only anti-heroes and proper villains. My one critique is that unlike his previous crime capers, the central characters never felt like underdogs here. I never got the sense that they weren't in control of the situation at all times. (Well, Michelle Dockery was in trouble for a moment.) Still a blast to watch, my audience enjoyed it as well.

Just came back from this. Did want to see it, but not overly excited about it, so I am glad I went before it disappeared. Have not seen any other Ritchie films, with the exception of Sherlock Holmes 2.
I totally agree with what you have commented on the the first part of the film, it was discombobulated and I think Ritchie may have dropped the ball a bit here. I entertained the notion of walking out, because I thought it was going to be a bit too taxing, especially for the late night session I ventured into. I am not the entire audience for this film, but I feel this was a wrongheaded approach to start the tale off. You don't want to alienate your audience in the first 15mins, especially with what appeared to be a projected cocky attitude from the film-maker. I started to over-think it myself. However, it did start to come together once I started to relax into it and got used to the characters. I think the visual and stylish approach to the film is what grabbed me the most.
By the end, I was thoroughly entertained and I liked how the film in sense was giving the bird to political correctness. As in the best of black comedies, you are not quite sure what is around the corner and while I was figuring some stuff out, it also out-figured me and I liked that aspect. It was clever.
I do think that Michelle Dockery was miscast. I wasn't getting the chemistry between her and McConaughey and she wasn't that believable as the cool as a cucumber, straight from the hip, wicked matriarch queen of her husband's empire. She was undermined by the strong male presence in this film and she just wasn't self-assured, or smoldering enough to match the screen presence of her masculine counterparts. She wasn't bad, but I don't know why Ritchie thought she was ideal.
well its nice to see you went through the exact same experience as i did with this movie ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Re Dockery - well the role was originally supposed to be played by Kate Beckinsale....who even DID some shooting days but then dropped out and Dockery was a quick replacement.

Hardly! He's too hot for me, but I am the preferred gender. See, he got even more corrupted when he did the UK Queer As Folk. I never heard there was sugar in the tank. He really is a great actor.

I never heard there was sugar in the tank. He really is a great actor. He is plenty all natural honey. Of course to have a career, phony hypocritical Hollyweird and their passive homophobia, will make sure he keeps himself "normalized", to be seen as believable. Is there proof of this or your personal gaydar going off?

Have you seen the UK Queer As Folk? Only 2 seasons, the second one goes a bit off the rails, but I prefer it to the US one.
Might be wishful thinking, Toastie ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I haven't seen that show.
