I decided to keep going. I've never really done my top 20 lists so this kind of gives me an excuse.

I selected gladiator, x-men and traffic. My list of favorite movies from 2000 would also have to include:
crouching tiger, hidden dragon (liked the martial arts),
28 days (really liked Viggo Mortensen in this),
the patriot (it is so sad that both Heath Ledger and Skye McCole Bartusiak who played Mel Gibson's children are dead) and
chocolat (this is one of my favorite movies ever! not just for 2000.) Joanne Harris who wrote the book upon which the movie was based, also wrote a sequel: Peaches for Father Frances. It might not be good enough to base a movie on, but it was a good story nonetheless.

Memento, Requiem, American Psycho. If we're counting Memento as 2001, Unbreakable takes its place.

That's cool you've seen Perfect Murder. I don't think many people have. You are right about comedies. Scary Movie definitely has it's moments and I love Marlon Wayans in it. Of course I have seen A Perfect Murder. It stars Michael Douglas and Viggo Mortensen and is a remake of a Hitchcock classic. This will sound insane but I actually prefer A Perfect Murder to Dial M for Murder.

Keep going, movieman!
I chose: American Psycho You Can Count on Me Almost Famous
Hoping to avoid another snark from Bat Outtaheck, I hereby append my alternative choices:
O Brother, Where Art Thou? Amores Perros Nine Queens Shadow of the Vampire The Town Is Quiet Sexy Beast Chicken Run Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Those whose taste I usually share praise In the Mood for Love but I have yet to see it. I have only a qualified appreciation for those Wong Kar-Wai films which I have seen.
