Blood Vessel (2019) Looks like a blatant rip-off of Death Ship.

Blood Vessel (2019) Looks like a blatant rip-off of Death Ship. It was okay. But yeah, it does take elements from ‘Death Ship’, and even ‘30 Days of Nights’. Then adding it’s own spin on the very familiar premise. I do like that it’s set during the Second World War. Interesting lore with the Nazi’s curiosity in the occult/supernatural, and this time its the coffins of an ancient vampire family they got their hands on. However it takes a while to get going, and the vampire carnage (which doesn’t come into play until 45-50 mins of exploring a dark, and dingy boat) is too little for my liking. The story of the original German crew had me more curious than that of shipwreck survivors boarding the vessel. Good creature design though.

The Night of the Generals (1967) No supernatural or horror elements... It's a murder mystery/suspense thriller, with a literate script and interesting performances from a stellar cast. Set during WWII (and also the "modern" 1960s -- it flashes back & forth), the plot concerns a dedicated Wehrmacht intelligence officer (Omar Sharif) who becomes obsessed with solving a series of savage murders in German-occupied territories. Is a high-ranking Nazi general actually a serial killer, butchering prostitutes Jack the Ripper-style? The closest thing there is to a "Nazi" giallo. Worth a watch.

A similar premise to Death Ship but definitely has it's own spin. I agree with your comments; it does take a while for the story to get going, and it would have been nice if there was some backstory on the Nazi crew. In fact, I thought the backstory of the vampire family should have been explored more as well. So all-in-all I thought it was an average horror movie.

It's a shame that there's no great version of that premise. I haven't seen this one, but the basic idea of characters boarding an abandoned ship and making that your inescapable haunted house is a really strong jumping off point, but Death Ship, Ghost Ship, and now it sounds like Blood Vessel have only resulted in mediocre final products.

Not sure if this one counts as an horror-thriller, but since it do come with a sleazy and murderous gang of vicious surfer-nazis, led by Adolf, I guess one could at least say it has a nazi-theme going on, strong.

Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge That and also the Axis trilogy, from the same franchise. And add Blade: The Iron Cross to the ever growing list.

I didn’t mind this recent nazi-themed (sorta) ghost story, but it looks like I’m few and far between. Another, but this one I didn’t care much for; Also there was a gimmick on the DVD about downloading an interactive mobile app triggered by sound. Didn’t bother with it at the time.

Crazy Nazi-doctors, set in 80s horror movies, rarely disappoints when it comes to delivering entertaining cheese:

Maybe not that interesting for those who do not speak norwegian/swedish, but this classic 1985 miniseries, Rød Snø or Red Snow (not to be confused with the norwegian horror comedy Dead Snow) had a fantastic cast, and where the story takes place during world war II, and combines romance, suspense, comedy and horror really well. Used to watch it as kid, scared the hell out of me, but re-watching it as an adult, it is really a well made an acted series, which ran for 6 episodes, and often re-runs during easter, at least in Norway.

Dana Andrews has an army of iced Nazis in The Frozen Dead (1966).

I discovered another Nazi horror movie... It's about modern-day Nazis who are in possession of Hitler's body, with the hopes of resurrecting the Führer so they can...you guessed it...take over the world. It looks like total crud, but I still plan to see it as a curio. And it has the distinction of being Veronica Lake's final movie!
