or "his vagina"?
I completely accept that some people mentally feel as though they're the opposite sex. I also think that living as the gender you identify as makes the most sense if you want to be happy.
I also understand that the surgery aspect is kind of controversial. I think it's a solution for some, but often people see it as "extreme" (which I totally get)...
..but I keep seeing stories in the news about transgender individuals, and every time I read something like "woman has surgery to remove her penis.." I can't help but think WTF?
It's clear to me that gender identity and gender roles can be complex and aren't always a black and white issue. I personally don't feel that you have to be a biological female to wear a dress, makeup, etc. The only reason that the traditional image is men wear pants and women wear dresses is because that's what we're taught from a young age. Biologically none of that matters. You can wear or look however you want...
However the word "her" and "him" have definitions..
I just can't help but cringe every time I read "her penis" or "his vagina"..
Am I alone in this? Does this make me "transphobic"?

I don't, it's stupid. I'm not gonna feed into someone's mental disorder. If you have a penis, you have....well, a penis. Same goes with vagina. I'm not gonna pretend a dude has a vagina when they have a cock.

And no cringing at something cringeworthy doesn't make you "transphobic"

I'm sorry. I'm busy laughing after hearing "penis" and "hard" in the same sentence.
Yes I am immature. And no I do not apologize for it.

Maybe this is why English needs noun genders like French and Spanish and Italian. Oddly enough though, in Spanish, the slang word for penis, verga, is feminine. Trannies tuck their penises and tape it to their thighs anyway. Hopefully it's never an issue.

You're really saying that you have a problem with other people saying this. That seems kind of anal to me.

That's all she's saying. It also goes to the root of the whole issue of gender dysphoria. It's a bit insane. So there's nothing anal about her question. In fact it's more genital than anal.

No, of course not, because I'm not an anal jerk. I see, you're just a dick. I know it dominates the visual landscape but I'm not all dick.

There are sweets in the UK called Starburst but they used to be called Opal Fruits. I still call them Opal Fruits and cringe at Starburst but I don't consider myself reasonable for doing so.

If I can get used to saying "his areola" (the outer part of the nipple), I guess I can get used to "her hairy testicles banging against his hot, moist vagina".

No. In this particular OP context, it sounds like it's relating to pre-op circumstances. In those situations, it would make perfect sense to say a phrase like "removing her penis" because she was born with male anatomy that she is having corrected.
Don't give a hoot.

If you saw a pic of a penis, a penis only and testicles, you would automatically think male. That's an innate knee-jerk reaction. That's all the OP is saying. To say you don't give a hoot means you give a hoot about neutralizing our sexuality as men and women.
