I have no interest in watching Batwoman, and no its not because it has a female lead its because i have never cared about the character of Batwoman, Had it been a tv show about Batgirl i would have watched it.

I am interested, even though the lead actress has extensive tattoos which is something I have an aversion to. I hope she will keep them covered most of the time. I recorded the first episode but haven't watched it yet.

I just looked at the ratings by demographic on IMDB and you can see a difference between men and women
Men rate it as 2,9 and Women 6,2

It has a similar mood to Gotham, which I liked, although it hasn't grabbed me the way Gotham did. I liked it well enough to at least give it a couple more episodes. If it gets in ratings trouble, maybe they could bring in some Gotham villain guest stars like Penguin of Riddler to spice things up.

Agreed although they would probably have to be much older versions of them.

Do you know how much younger she is supposed to be than Bruce?

Do you know how much younger she is supposed to be than Bruce? Not Really!
Just based on the Pilot Episode though, Bruce was already in his final days as Batman (before he vanished) when she (when she was still a little girl) lost her sister (or so she thought) and her mother in that car accident on the bridge.

Not quite that severe imo, my take based on the pilot is Bruce is 10-15 years older than Kate, I would assume probably in the middle and about 12 years or so, he was Batman already when she was 12-13, but Bruce didn't give up on being Batman until 3 years ago on the show.
This also works with what she says in that she describe Bruce as like her irresponsible older brother, to the point her and her sister would play in Bruce office, this is why I think Bruce wouldn't be like 20+ years older than her as he would be more fun uncle than older brother I think.

Well Ruby Rose is actually 33 years old so I think it would really be more than 10-15 years, I think 20 would be a good guess.

I dropped the CW shows years ago, it all turned into crap. I have no desire to see Greg Berlanti butcher this show.

Let's be honest, this show is terrible. My 11 year old daughter loved it and I watched it with her, so I will probably continue to watch it, unfortunately. It has some of the worst acting I have seen. We need to face facts, Ruby Rose cannot act. Period. I found her interesting on Orange is the New Black and was excited to see her in other roles, but she is horrible in everything. She was okay in John Wick 2 because she didn't say a word. Also, the storytelling in this show was perfectly written for my 11 year old. Any adult that takes this show seriously at all has issues. I really mean that. The storytelling is hilariously awful.

Yeah, That is Disrespectful!
I'm an Adult (35) and I actually liked the First Episode (I loved the fight scenes and I think Ruby Rose's acting is just fine) and I have got every right in the world to feel that way.

You can like it all you want, but the terrible writing and acting is not my opinion. It is factual that they both sucked.

You don't speak for everybody and neither do I, Nobody Does and I do know of others that also liked the First Episode as well.
It may be factual that they both sucked to you but there are others that don't agree. I just hope that you are already aware of that.

Terrible writing and acting is not an opinion. This show was cheesy as heck and terribly written. Seriously. Every scene had at least one cliché and cringe moment. The flashbacks were just thrown in like the show was written by a 12 year old. The show was obviously designed for kids in the 9-13 age range so I cannot fault it too much. I love mindless action so it's whatever, but the show is seriously very low quality in every way. I will agree that the fight scenes were cool though. If they can emphasize good action instead of 'emotional' 'acting' then the show might be enjoyable. The great part about it for my 11 year old daughter is that the story is so simple and mindless that she finds it interesting. It is like when you play with toys as a kid. You make up a simple backstory for all the characters in about 30 seconds and just move forward, like this show.

Yes she did. She is a big comic book fan and loves the MCU. She also likes the show Supergirl. I am not a huge fan of that either, but I feel it is better than this one. Still, I am happy to watch this with her. It is light years more fun for me to watch than Jessie or those thousand other Disney shows she watches.
