And then I watched it again years later after hormones had kicked in.
It was sexy but still quite silly.

The first time was back in the day, and I thought it was goofy. And it is. I thought it had no appeal.
Seeing it again, about 6 months ago, I found it goofy, but appealing. It was fun. I think I was afraid of mere fun when I was busy trying to be so serious in those days.
Despite what surveys say (and surveys are fixed. I know, because I worked in market research), it isn't likely to appeal to teenagers or people in their twenties, or even early thirties, due to its "fun" nature. People in that age group are mostly seeking to prove something to the world, and are too serious to enjoy jocularity. Especially males.
There are exceptions to every rule, and the exceptions like to change the rules to comply with themselves, which is why market research rarely works.
I would have given it a 2/10 in my twenties, but today it's more of a 4/10, which isn't bad. I give 3/10 to the dullest movies, lower to ones that are total wastes or attempts to depress people into suicidal thoughts. 4/10 is for movies like this. A bit of fun, watchable on the elliptical or exercise bike.

I remember being mildly irritated because the boyfriend I saw it with kept going on about how gorgeous she was. This annoyed me as I thought he should be telling me how gorgeous I was. That was about 46 years ago and I haven’t seen it since, should maybe give it another go.
