Are you a 'Dead Head'? Any fans still stick with it? I'm catching up with the opener that was on Sunday night. Used to be my favorite show years ago. I've tried to be a dedicated fan for years; however the show just doesn't feel the same without Rick and some of the old cast - and to be blunt Micchone has worn on me for years and her acting is horrific. Can anybody give me a reason to continue watching or perhaps recommend a new show? Do you still watch TWD? Yay or Nay Go!

I have every episode from the last three seasons still on my DVR. I used to watch it religiously, now I am three seasons behind. I always plan to get back to it some day.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. Used to look forward to watching it every Sunday night for years. Been in the Halloween mood for awhile now. Catching up on Hannibal which is great and am going to stick with the new season of American Horror Story which has been fun so far (it's a nod to the 80s slasher movies).

I think the show was at the top of it's game around the Shane/Herschel years and The Governor. I yawned through Alexandria; however Negan's introduction spiked interest for me again. How are you liking the new villains?

Dont know what to make of the Samantha Morton gang, its looking like all out war with them this season. Am delighted Negan will be back and kicking ass.

Kinda strange that after switching show runners and losing it's protagonist last season, the show was the best it's been in years.

The emergence of Micchone as the new leader and the introduction of the Whisperers? Less Maggie? I was disappointed they killed off Jesus.

Still watching, but the days when I looked forward to the start of the new season and indeed to each new episode are long gone.

Never got into it, zombies are boring. Boring because they're 'slow'? What about 'running' zombies - i.e. The Dawn of the Dead Remake? Or intellectual zombies like in Land of the Dead?

Before that, the previous 3-4 seasons I watched sorta out of habit. I basically figured "Well, I've been watching this long, maybe it will get better" And it really didn't. It felt like 80% of the show was just filler, with a season and midseason premiere and finale that had some action. And it's a shame, because the pilot episode was one of the best pilots ever and the first few seasons were great. But it's been mediocre at best for a while now. And finally after that episode I mentioned, i was just like "Fuck it"

Used to watch it on YouTube on Monday mornings.
Gave up on it after the whole governor ting. Dipped in and out for a while, then gave up on it completely after series 5.

Yeah when they're slow, they don't make for very compelling antagonists. There are good zombie flicks. Return of the Living Dead (1985) is a classic as far as I'm concerned. 28 Days Later is great. Also I'm assuming there are layers to TWD, at least conceptually. 'The Walking Dead' actually describes the twisted survivors who feel isolated and dead inside as opposed to the actual zombies, that kind of thing. But with zombies as the hook, it never pulled me in.

The first few seasons were terrific - and I had a sense of obligation to 'hang in there' because I used to be such a hardcore fan. I'll still tune in from time to time - but it's mostly out of curiosity to see if the show regains any of it's magic and for sentimental reasons. It's like professional wrestling when I was a kid. Sadly over the years I soured on the product as it's in the crapper and has been for years upon years but when flipping channels may stay tuned in if an old school legend is on camera.

It's a classic because it basically kicked off the zombie mythos in modern pop culture. And there have been a few fun ones over the years, but I'm zombied out at this point.

I liked it initially but became disinterested by the 4th season.
