Seeing these lists just reminds me how Bond films can be divisive, might as well be toppings on pizza. Best: 1. Casino Royale (2006) 2. Goldfinger 3. GoldenEye (Boris makes the film, "I am INVINCIBLE!!!!") Worst: 1. Live and Let Die 2. A View to Kill 3. Moonraker Why do you rank Live and Let Die so low?

Why is there so much hate for Never Say Never Again? I know, it's not an official Bond film but it's not that bad either. Yes, it's a remake of Thunderball and an inferior one yet give it another shot there's some great stuff in it.

I like the "regular" Bond films better.

1. From Russia With Love 2. Thunderball 3. Dr. No 1. Spectre 2. Octopussy 3. A View to a Kill Octopussy has an outstanding opening with the midget jet. That's what she said.

Yeah. Those underwater sequences alone are the absolute worst. Blasphemy!! Yeah, that underwater take is overrated. it plays fine upon re-watches. The rest of Thunderball is superb, not least the most cinematic film of Connery's run.

The movie just doesn't flow well at all and the whole thing feels lazy. Half the cast looks like they would rather be doing anything else.

Yeah I don't get why they got Connery back for another Bond movie and instead of doing something new, they remade one that he did 18 years before.

It would have been cool to see Sean Connery back as James Bond...but not in a remake of a James Bond movie he was already in.

Like you said, it was just poorly made.

Max Von Sydow is just painful to watch as Blofeld. I have never seen him look so disinterested.

The only Bond movies I had seen prior were the Pierce Brosnan films, the Daniel Craig films and Goldfinger, Thunderball and Dr. No. I purposely put off Never Say Never Again because I heard it was a remake of Thunderball.

Well that was the only story they could use because the producer actually helped write the Thunderball screenplay with Ian Fleming. There were a lot of legal wrangling over it for years.

GoldenEye (Boris makes the film, "I am INVINCIBLE!!!!") Worst: 1. Live and Let Die 2. A View to Kill 3. Moonraker Why do you rank Live and Let Die so low? At the time I was in a James Bond marathon, I had only seen GoldenEye and the Daniel Craig films and finally decided to give these all a chance and saw them one by one in chronological order. Perhaps seeing so many back to back makes me see things I wouldn't have if there was more time in between. Refreshed my memory with a review I posted on RT, problems I had with it was everything from the semi-racism of the characters. Painful stereotyping at the least, I'm not one to normally have a problem with this kind of thing but it was so blatant was a bit painful. That sheriff was even more painful and the "comedy" he was supposed to provide. Voodoo? Taking it seriously. Then the sharks at the end was them just stealing from a previous Bond film. Film was a chore to get through and managed to even beat out A View to Kill and its stupid earthquakes plotline.
To be honest I'm not really a big fan of these films, highly overrated as a franchise imo. My Top 3 are the only films I'd give an 8/10 and above, License to Kill would be my #4 and I rank that and the next few with a 7. I guess I'm not a big fan of the absurd though was nice to understand references from all the spoofs I've seen before getting to the real thing.
