I had a conversation last night with a pal who is a life-long Spuds fan and he is keen to see "The Moana" take over. For the very simple reason that the achievement in reaching last season's CL final has whetted his appetite and he would like to see his team win something/anything in his son's lifetime. That comes as a given with Jose. He wins things. Spuds don't. He wouldn't stay there for more than 2/3 years and Daniel Levy would have to allow him free reign with his wallet, but the monkey would be off the Spuds' back. Makes sense to me

Hope not. He's a boring bastard .. and so is his style of football.

Hard to think of a club and manager less well suited to each other. I'd give it a few months before Mourinho flips his shit over Levy dragging out a transfer for months to get one extra penny on the fee.

He seems to have a 2 year shelf life only and needs a very strong captain who agrees with his methods and will keep the dressing room behind him. Not sure where Spurs are expected to go though. Daniel Levy has a limit he sets on the Spurs purse strings and as the lowest spending big 6 side by some distance, they are already punching above their weight.

I agree with your "purse strings" remark. That's one of the reasons why Spuds don't win things but that has to change and if Jose was appointed then Levy would have to agree to become less possessive about the team and players

I have no idea what the finances are like but it took Arsenal a decade to recover from a new stadium if at all. They can compete maybe with Arsenal, but the others? No chance. Therefore it's just a continuous grind of aiming at 3rd or 4th. Not a football outlook I would care to support. Rather depressing in a weird way. I like the ups and downs.
