Disdain, if we're being honest.
I'm fairly aware I should watch it again but I found the premise frustrating. Frustrating in that I couldn't get behind any of the characters, save for McAvoy (sometimes), and I just didn't get any catharsis. The one almost decent part for me was Angelina Jolie asking point blank if the conspiracy about McAvoy's father is true (surprising me because how does anyone in the group other than McAvoy not know?) and then Jolie takes it upon herself to kill everyone (and herself) to atone for it? I thought it was almost obnoxiously rich about that.
I didn't feel a thing while watching it, but one of my best cinephile friends swears by it. I dunno.

OK action movie that is nothing like the source material it is based on, which would have made it better if it had been, and I don't understand why they would make the movie if they weren't going to adapt the source material. Weird.

If you don't mind me asking, What did you think of the Acting Performances in it from James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie, and Morgan Freeman ?

If you don't mind me asking, What did you think of the Acting Performances in it from James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie, and Morgan Freeman ? As far as I remember they were all good. I definitely remember wishing McAvoy's character would just walk away. Don't fall for them trying to lure you in! It's a trick, run McAvoy's character, run!
McAvoy's always good. Angelina Jolie's good too, I just didn't like her character. I think that was my problem. I didn't like any of them. I didn't want any of them to succeed or be redeemed.
I'll say this, I did like the shot where Angelina Jolie closes her eyes as she knows the bullet she sent around in the circle was coming for her next.
I can't tell a lie. You make one mean highlight reel. Some great pics and gifs in there. If I give this movie another chance in the next few years, it'll be because of this awesome post.

I used to think that movie was solid at one point in the past. like on my initial viewing and for at least some re-watches after that.
but it shifted to Thumbs Down status for me on July 8th 2013 which is the last time I re-watched it. but back around the time it was released on video and for probably a year or two after that, I thought it was a solid movie.

anthonyrocksIt simply fails to interest me to a certain degree as like I always say the more interesting a movie is, the higher the score. the less interesting it is, the lower the score. it just happened to fall below a certain level of enjoyment after a certain point (like a movie can drop off some but after a certain point it no longer is worth re-watching and that's what determines my basic Thumbs Up(i.e. 6/10 or higher) vs Thumbs Down(i.e. 5/10 and less)) even though I do remember at least liking it for I would say roughly a handful of viewings. so strictly by your topic... which is 'first reaction' (or one could say 'initial viewing') I gave it a Thumbs Up. so while it's hard to explain details... you could basically say it's a general feeling/emotional response in what makes or breaks movies, which I think is at the core of what makes movies work or not. basically ones all around enjoyment/entertainment from watching a movie play out. but for whatever reason some people around here seem to affiliate the word 'entertainment' with only simple movies with action/explosions etc (a stereotype people like to make fun of) and, as I would assume you already know, it does not work that way as there are different kinds of movies and different kinds of emotional responses/feelings to movies as movies can give off different types of feelings/emotional responses but can be about equally as good etc. because while I can't always put how I feel or thoughts about a movie into words, I think my score for a movie should make things pretty clear to others as one could basically interpret my rating system like the following if you want to skip the details... 7/10 or higher = among my favorite movies (these tend to get re-watched the most) 6/10 = Thumbs Up (will re-watch but I only mildly like these kinds of movies) 5/10 and less = Thumbs Down (won't re-watch(with rare exception))
