So the Washington Nationals have just taken a 3-0 lead in the NLCS, which leads to one of my absolute FAVORITE things to bring up......
Do you guys know that in the very long history of baseball, there's only been one team to ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in a playoff series to actually win it?
Only one......
And better still, there's only one team that's ever blown a baseball playoff series after winning the first three games.
Only one......
Btw, if anybody is unaware of who these teams are, feel free to ask! I'll be happy as a pig in shit to tell ya!

Ah, you’re talking about when Boston humiliated the Evil Empire in 2003, right?

Best thing I remember was Kevin Millar saying over and over before Game 5
“Don’t let us win tonight “
I knew then that The Idiots would not fold when they went back to New York

Well, it was 2004, but you're in the neighborhood. That’s right in 2004. That was a great series, one of the best ever. Yes, yes it was. Btw, as long as I'm visiting this message board, and as long as I am breathing, I will bring this EVERY SINGLE TIME someone has a 3-0 lead in a baseball playoff series. Until someone else does what the 2004 Red Sox did, that is.....

Until that prick Johnny Damon hit that grand slam off that bigger prick Kevin Brown in Game 7......then I knew.

But they were in the Yankees head after Game 5 and a lot of that was Millar. You could see in in interviews. The Yankees were up 3-2, at home and looked beaten.

Millar didn't just talk the talk, he walked the walked, literally. Dave Roberts stole the base that altered the galaxy but don't forget, he was pinch running for Millar, who worked out a walk against Mariano Rivera. And let's not forget, in the 9th inning of the epic Game 5, Millar had a key walk once again off of Rivera. Two walks against the greatest closer in history in two HUGE moments. Might be the highlight of Kevin Millar's career, but that ain't bad.

Did you know that the city of Boston was also involved in another series in which one team was up 3-0 and eventually lost? That's right folks. In 2010 the Boston Bruins were up 3 games to none on the Philadelphia Flyers and the Orange and Black came back to take the series even after being down 3-0 in Game 7!

That's fine, my man, I'll give you that one. If I gloat about one for my team, I must also accept the defeats like a man. There are, however, a couple of differences. One, the comeback from down 3-0 has happened a few times in hockey. Still a remarkable achievement. 2nd, my Red Sox did go on to win a championship. How though Flyers end up doing? 🤔

Can anybody tell me what happened after the New England Patriots went on an 18 game winning streak in 2007? My TV broke and I never did find out. Did they win that 19th game?

Should've brought up Super Bowl LII but I see the angle you were going for.

Should've brought up Super Bowl LII but I see the angle you were going for. Did they ever even lead in that game? Besides, the easy counter to mentioning that game is "they won the Super Bowl the next year, asshole."
