For the last 20 years or so, yeah. Twenty years? I guess you forgot these two days: February 5th 2012 and February 3rd 2008. (And that February 3rd 2008 date is particularly humiliating. 18-1 )

Who the best player is subjective, right? To be honest, many times it is not. Jordan, Sampras, Serena, LeBum, Lawrence Taylor, Tiger, Gretzky, Michael Phelps, Dr. J, Joe Louis...

Baseball and football are difficult to claim a hands down best player in the sport. Lawrence Taylor jumps out...but a sport with both defense/offense players...can anybody be considered the best? Baseball...positions make it hard. Doc Gooden vs. a position player...who really is best in the sport?

Both Lawrence Taylor and Dwight Gooden were drug addicts. So they don't count. Jim Rice actually did win the MVP in 1978, not Ron Guidry, so wrong again. Wayne Gretzky was the greatest player when he played for Oilers and Kings, by the time he got to Rangers he was a shell of what he once was, so wrong again. Jeremy Lin is a gook, so wrong again. Coke doesn't make you throw a fast ball faster.
Well, we know Fake Marco never had any coke. Fucking nerd! Cause it 100% will make you throw the ball faster and better

Sixers- Dr J, Charles Barkley. Moses Malone. Timberwolves- Kevin Garnett Vikings- Randy Moss, Fran Tarkenton, Allan Page, Hershel Walker. Twins- Kirby Puckett, Jack Morris, Joe Mauer, Big Papi None of those baseball guys were ever considered the best in their sport. Maybe at their position, you could make an argument for Mauer, but overall? Ortiz? Maybe he’s the best DH but he’s never been the best overall in the game. Yeah, that's a weird list. I do think Mauer was maybe the best player in the AL the year he won MVP(unanimously) but not MLB with Albert Pujols right in the middle of his prime. Puckett and Morris were never close. And Ortiz was a nobody with the Twins( hadn't started his famous "vitamin" regime yet)

Gotta go with Marco here. Leonard has been talked about as an elite player for years. His reputation took a hit when he sat out a couple years ago, and people weren't sure where he was healthwise. But everyone wanted him. He doesn't get a ton of headlines because he's a quiet guy, maybe that's why he's apparently been flying under DSD's radar. Not sure where I'd rank him 1-10 but he's been an elite player for a while now. He's an elite defender, can score any way you want and he was the best player on two different championship teams in two different conferences. Yeah, I really have no idea where that guy is coming from with this: "Apparently you just started watching the NBA this year. Maybe the experts say that today, but they sure didn't at the start of last season or even at the start of last year's playoffs." That's like saying nobody was talking about om Brady until this year. I really wonder what the hell that guy watches or reads. Kawhi has been touted as one of the league's best for years now. Your post, Rey, is perfect. You even got the backlash Kawhi faced over that injury right. Other than that blip, Kawhi has been probably the most highly praised player over the past four years. Greek Freak is getting a ton now, but Curry and LeBum have both moved down a notch. Sorry, but you are wrong. No point in arguing this any further. This has not 'flown under my radar'. Basketball is my favorite sport and I probably watch more NBA than anyone on this board. Heck, I have watched almost all of preseason. That's how much I am into it. At the start of the 2018-2019 season, Leonard was not on anyone's top five list. He just was not. You can say it was because he missed a few years or whatever, but he still was not. I never said Leonard was not elite. He is. However, a player having three very good playoff series is not enough for me to put him over Lebron, Steph, etc. It just isn't.

I can probably tell you about every player on the bench for every team in the NBA. Leonard is an elite player, but he is not the best player in the sport. There is seriously no question that Lebron and Durant are better at a minimum.

I was agreeing with Marco that he's been an elite player for a while, whereas you seem to think nobody noticed him until last season. That's simply not true. 'The best' is certainly subjective but the conversation right now has to at least include Leonard.

My point was that he was not on anyone's top five list at the start of last season. You can blame it on him being out forever or whatever, but it is still true. He is maybe the best two way player in the league. He is a force on defense and a very sound offensive player. I think he makes any team a contender, but is he Durant? Is he Lebron? I know marco thinks Steph sucks, but he's a top 8 PG ever and a multiple MVP winner. The argument was that he is the best player in the NBA and he is not.

And I am not going to bring in the humiliating 18-1 loss at the hands of Eli...and then a few years later losing to Eli again in the Super Bowl. No, why Brady is never seen as a Gretzky or a LeBum or a Serena or a Jordan is because it is always Belichick and Brady. The two are always mentioned always linked when speaking of a Patriot's dynasty. Ask yourself, who really gets credit for the Patriots' success? It is never Brady alone, it is never Belichick alone. It is always Brady and Belichick.

It is always Brady and Belichick. You can say that about any QB ever maybe. Football is a system game. Bill is amazing, but he built a system around maybe the best QB to ever do it. Look at Jordan before he got Pippen and Phil. He couldn't win. No one can win it on their own. It takes a good system and the right people around you.

... I know marco thinks Steph sucks, ... Huh? I love the guy. Hell I even went out and bought one of these a few years ago: I love NBA...and I love those t-shirts that the league sells. Being a Knick fan, well, there aren't many guys I am going to wear. Porzingis and that's it. (I ain't exactly running out and buying a Julius Randle or Bobby Portis shirt.) So I end up buying various players that I like throughout the league. Antentokounmpo, Harden, Hayward, Wall, Curry.... And for all you hayseeds out there, those shirts are actually a pretty good fashion style. Wear them with a fine pair of jeans and a sharp pair of Puma Clydes and believe me, I look good. It's actually good New York style.

It is always Brady and Belichick. Brady has Belichick. Montana had Walsh. Jordan had Jackson. Emmitt Smith had Barry Switzer. Gretzky had a slew of hall of famers playing with him in Edmonton, although admittedly it was Gretzky who made them that way (well, except for Messier). But the point is all these guys are linked to coaches and teammates.

I would have his shirt or even RJ Barrett's shirt. I think both players will be fun to watch this year, even if the Knicks are not a great team.

I think both players will be fun to watch this year, even if the Knicks are not a great team. 1. Yeah, the yellow Golden State t-shirt for some reason looks the best. But a red Rockets one with white jeans and red Pumas looks pretty darn good. Fashion tips I give out free. Most people dress like slobs everyday of their lives. Makes me sick. 2. Randle was thiiiiis close to being a bust. Guy turned it all around once he left LA. He's looked good for us (Marcus Morris has looked our best) and I hope to enjoy Randle. You are wrong about Barrett. He (finally) played a solid game. Still can't shoot worth a damn (last night 33% from field, 0-3 from three), but everything else he does incredibly well, especially for a rookie. Fiz had him playing a bit of point last night...6'7" point guard who can slash and cut and get to the basket with power and ease. It was impressive. By the way, what is your team? You are still clueless about Kawhi's status amongst NBA pundits, but just curious to see who you root for.
