a 90s creature that slipped under my radar. I know it stars Jeff Daniels and John Goodman and apparently tries to mix and horror and comedy. Worth a watch? I like creature features. Also the poster/DVD/Blu ray cover art is beautiful

It kept me up at night after I saw it in the cinema. I haven't seen it in years but I remember it as pretty good as such things go, with a sense of humour to lighten the creepiness, although not by much.

It starts really well, but gets pretty stupid.

Never watched it, but I don’t know if I could. I have a bit of arachnophobia myself.

I've loved that movie when I was younger and I watched it recently. It's a pretty decent mixture of horror and comedy and I think it holds up pretty well.
You should check it out.

Definitely worth a watch, just don't take it too seriously. Good fun, some genuine tension and suspense, entertaining good time of a movie.

Yes, it's a fun tidy creature feature. The fx work for the spiders still holds up. The basement scene in the climax is still thrilling. And the movie really does take advantage of the fact that spiders can hide anywhere.

A delightfully enjoyable film. Love the cast. Great comic moments. Of course, Goodman was a highlight. Fun!

It's just light hearted good natured fare. Nothing to get pro or con about. Just a bit of fun while you're on the elliptical or exercise bike. Not really that funny, but it's not overly dull. 5/10

Brilliant, fun...and somewhat jump filled movie.
When I took some of my kids years ago, my daughter asked why I was laughing while everyone else was screaming.... I let her know that it was because I had already seen it and knew when the jumps and jolts were coming.
It has that great small town community thing Spielberg and John Hughes and co did so well..... All the performances are top notch and this treat stands up to repeated viewings.
I would heartily urge you to ignore the jaded nay-sayers.....ensnare it in your web, get the popcorn out.....dim the lights......and enjoy this what I call a ' Movie Movie'.......what cinema-going should be all about.

Watched it and enjoyed it. Felt like a mix of Gremlins and Jaws. Also liked the slower pace that allowed us to get to know the town and people before hell breaks loose
