I wouldn't call "Angel Heart" mediocre. He did work in the lesser films of Coppola, Roeg, Walter Hill, Tony Scott and Cimino.

I wouldn't call "Angel Heart" mediocre. He did work in the lesser films of Coppola, Roeg, Walter Hill, Tony Scott and Cimino. I love Rumble Fish (Coppola) and Year of the Dragon (Cimino), so I've got to respectfully disagree on those two. Especially on Coppola who has had much worse or more mediocre movies. But I do agree with you on Walter Hill. Johnny Handsome was disappointing, even though it was a cool idea for a movie. Definitely one of Hill's lesser films. I'm not a big fan of Roeg or Scott, so I've not seen all their movies. I haven't seen Eureka or Domino (2005), but their ratings are crappy, so your original point is probably valid.

Not a fan. One of his worst boring terribly painful movies was Barfly (1987). Hated every crawling, slow-moving, molasses minute of it.

I like Johnny Handsome better than most of Walter Hill's other movies, but I don't understand what is so great about him as a director in the first place. I agree about Rumble Fish though. That is easily one of Coppola's best movies since Apocalypse Now.

I still liked Iron Man 2 better than Cowboys&Aliens. I like Iron Man 2 better than all of his other movies, with the exception of Iron Man and Chef.

I wouldn't call "Angel Heart" mediocre. He did work in the lesser films of Coppola, Roeg, Walter Hill, Tony Scott and Cimino. In what world is Tony Scott one of the best directors of all time? I don't agree that Walter Hill or Michael Cimino are anywhere near the best directors of all time either. The only reason Michael Cimino is held in high regard is because of The Deer Hunter.

No..that was Robin Williams in popeye, hook and Jack. I like Hook, but I definitely agree about Popeye and Jack. Coincidentally Mickey Rourke is in 1941, which is easily Spielberg's worst movie imo.

I wouldn't call "Angel Heart" mediocre. He is also in Body Heat, which is arguably Lawrence Kasdan's best movie.
