I hope the Gnats win the WS - going to make the divisional rivalry that much better - especially with the Harper side story for years. Going to be even better when Rendon signs here during the Winter Meetings. Wonder if we get Dusty Baker too. Go Gnats! Will Rendon resign? I would think they'll give him a pretty good offer. They will low ball him and defer most of the low ball. That's the offer on the table and that's the offer that was offered to every other big name free agent. Scherzer has $105m of his $210m deferred without interest. Strasburg had $70m of his $175m deferred interest free. Corbin had deferred money.
Rendon is all but gone. He was offered between $210m and $215m (don't know the length) and he turned it down in September.
Strasburg is going to opt out. He has 4 years $100 million remaining. He'll get a better AAV

Man, when it comes down to it, I'd miss Strasburg more. That guy has been a rock for the nats. If they lose him and Rendon there won't be any repeating.

Harper's being honest. You develop friendships over your tenure at a team. They don't just disappear when you leave. I remember Luke Ball, the St Kilda captain, got traded to Collingwood. The next year Collingwood beat St Kilda in the Grand Final. Look on his face said it all. Relief...and then nothing. His new mates celebrating while his old mates collapsed in disappointment with him having no idea how to feel.

He's 'real'. It's not like a con artist or used car salesman feeding you a line of crap and just telling you what you want to hear. He's 'genuine' - and that's what this city likes. Just give 100% and play - back up your words with your actions. If you underperform sure you may hear some boos - but the vast majority here appreciates hustle and wearing your heart on your sleeve - we just want to see you're trying and giving your all. I had the wrong impression of him when he was down in D.C. - thought he was going to be an arrogant primadonna - he's the complete opposite.
